  1. new one was less than $100. know they are straight and true.  not opposed to buying used on some things.  just felt more comfortable with new for that price.  to each their own.  if and when i end up with another boat ill reach out to Ken again if it needs changed.

  2. when i was shopping i emailed Ken at propgods.  he recommended a prop that he did not even sell and told me amazon would be the best price.  his suggestion was perfect and did exactly what he said it would.  thought that was great of him to give a solution even if it did not benefit his business.

  3. I've seen a few videos of people trolling and seeing the spread behind the boat with these units.  Thinking of investing at some point and wanted to know if there is anything that needs done outside of the recommended configuration with other equipment or mounting.  Also what settings are working for those that run these.  Never seen one in person.  Thank you

  4. Even on my small boat I always keep a charged jump box, have since day one.  Not one of the little ones but a 1700 amp one. similar price to a battery and it can be used for other things than the boat.  Just extra assurance. Truck could be dead in the trailer lot also.  Appreciate the input on how this can be done. Thank you everyone

Look into the Power Pole Charge. We have used this charger a lot at the marina. When your main or kicker is running you can divert that alternators output to your trolling motor batteries. Kickers don't have huge alternators, but it will help. The Power Pole Charge also acts as an onboard charger and an emergency jump start.

I'm not electrician, but I don't know if you can hook your 12v kicker into a 24/36v battery bank? The Power Pole Charge helps make these conversions from 12v to 24/26v happen.

Morning Richard, do you have these in the shop?

  6. Was on the water about 4:45.  Dad didnt want a rough ride so we set down in 150 and headed north.  Temp was deep.  Set a rigger at about 150 and another 130.  Spoon and FF. Low mag divers out 280 and 300 with FF, high divers 300 and 350 one with spoon one with meat.  Did not mark much until we we at 300'.  Screen go really good at 350.  No takers, tried speed changes, color changes, swapped fly for meat.  Nothing, had a couple lookers that moved up or down with the spread for a bit but that was it.  Anyone have any luck this weekend?  Any tips or tricks?

Size of boat can become irrelevant. For years I fished out in the 600-700 ft area in my 13 ft. Boston Whaler but it was all dependent on conditions and there were times when the weather report suggested it would be good only to find when i got there to the lake....impossible conditions to go out at all. One particular time I was out in the deep stuff and a storm came out of nowhere  from the west with lightening and huge waves building and raining like hell. It had been beautiful all morning too. When I finally reached the channel all the big boats were struggling to get back in the 12 ft. waves. The people on the Sodus Point pier were clapping and cheering me on as it probably looked to them that I was in someones dingy:lol: I had about 8 inches of water in the boat from the rain but I made it in (white knuckles and all) but it was a huge lesson to me as even the 32 ft or larger boats were in just as much trouble as me getting back in.  You have to choose your conditions no matter what sized boat but keep in mind regardless that the weather out there comes with no guarantee and can change quickly.

I remember something similar when I was mating on a boat in sodus. Dead flat when we went out but turned to 10' waves in a hurry. Makes for a interesting run in. Been out in my 16' tracker in 3's but that's all I would recommend. Pick your days and it's a non issue. Trouble is work/family come first so the days are limited. Setting lines in 3's can be a challenge with low sides, just need to be carefull

  8. Afternoon,  I'm having trouble finding the size/slot regulations for Ontario zone 20 (lower Niagara) for a upcoming trip. We will be targeting walleye but bass would be fine also.  I have both US and Ontario licenses and will be fishing from the US side.  I have the Ontario regs for zone 20 here and the only thing im finding on walleye is not more than one greater than 63cm (24.8") as well as possession limits.  Nothing on minimum limit or slot if there is one for this zone.  Could not find the minimum in the general regs either.  Am i missing something? Is there any other spots that the information can be had?  Thank you

  9. I bought a 220f not long after they came out. Then ny opened rifle. Dad shot a couple with it though. Ive used lightfields in it. Now I'm using Remington accutips. They shoot alright. Never really played with it to much. Can't get rid of it in case I make it to the Midwest in a shotgun only area. I see they have a smoothbore turkey model now also

  10. Agree, TM pulling on the small boats works great. I found with mine I lock the target speed the increase kicker speed to the TM is running about 50%. Any less and it seems to get lazy with the steering. Kicker throttle made a world of difference on dialing the speed. Also mad a big skeg for the TM to grab more water. As long as the wind isn't bad I can look at my tracks and they are dead straight. Moving in the boat upsets it more than anything else
