  1. GREAT!!! Now you have done it Hooked more people on Lake fishing. I remember my first trip out on the big lake back in 1985. All it took was one big king(32lbs) and I never stopped the hunt after that.

    Did you use the bass for Salmon bait?

    Great pictures Tom

  2. Steve and Clarke;

    Thanks

    Yes Steve---- Bill & I put in our far share of hours in the pursuit of the almighty King Salmon. A few years back when we placed the 3 top ten lakers we were fishing Kings and caught suspended lakers in 250 FOW 80 to 100 down on wire and meat. Damm those are some big hooks down there gotta be kings....LOL Lakers!! The only fish we fish for during derby time are Kings and Steel.

  3. Set lines @ 6am in 70 FOW and started the slow troll north. Bumpy ride with the 4 to 5 footers out therecomming from the north. Made it out to 400 FOW and took a few fish on the way out. Fish 40 to 80 down, leads on riggers 8 to 20 off ball. Wire rods out 150' to 250' 11" green flasher and green 3 fly meat rig and same on other wire rod but white. Fish caught were Kings, Laker, Steelhead. Marked most fish in 300 FOW range so we worked that depth hard and picked up a few more Kings and Steelhead. Derby Fish came on 11" green flasher with a A-TOM-MIK 3 fly meat rig Green Glow, 250 out 2.5 setting on dispey over 315 FOW. Once I realized it was a big fish I cleared all but one line so uncle bill had lots of room to fight this fish. Landed fish and ran boat back to weigh it in.

    Mark

  4. Fished from 9:30 thru 2 Started out in 90 FOW and took fish all the way out to 200 FOW. Did not see much bait past 150. Water temp down 70ish 41F. Wire went 3 times 11" green flasher and green meat 3 fly rig, 250 out 2.5 setting. Rigger 60 to 80 down, 15 to 25 back also took fish. PROBLEM was the fish were not hooking up well dropped way more than we caught. On the way back in did a 18 King in 110 FOW 250 out on the wire, flasher and meat.

  5. Erbyjoe;

    Now that looks like a unit I will also check into. FURUNO FCV620 COLOR FISHFINDER 5.6 LCD DISPLAY. As for Garmin I have one now and I love it!! great unit, M# 240 Blue. I dont like the fact that Garmin screen size has shrunk down in size. If they were to offer a 5" or 5.5" screen I would buy one in a minute. I have never had a problem with it. Also I see cannon balls and fish on my screen.

  6. Ben;

    I ran my new Big Jon Otter Boats with the 5'2" mast mounted on the bow of my 23' Saturday & Sunday. Both boards out to max with the line that comes with the mast. Boards were tracking forward of the stern!! PERFECT, did not drag behind the boat. As for the Otter Boats they do handle rough water well. We were out Sunday (I-Bay) and the wind kicked up pretty good mid to late afternoon. No problems, Except for the boat that was not paying attention and ran me into the shore line, We had to scream to get there attention, both guys were looking to the stearn. Boards did not dive in rough water.

    Well worth the $$$$
