  1. Jet Boat Bill,

    I have an Alpha 1.

    One of the board members has let me use his.

    I fixed boat last night. Took me 3 hours to put water pump assy into out drive, put upper and lower back together, check motor aligmment and put drive back on stern. Tough job when your doing this by yourself!! Purrring like a kitten. I still want to buy one. I have gone thru a few couplers over the last 6 years and I have learned it's a good idea to pull drive every year and lube spline / check alignment. What are your thoughts

  2. Roadrash:

    Is it a Tekota 600LC REEL on a Daiwa rod?...If so I know who lost one in the same location that you found/caught that rod set up. King ME, Steve Drave. Just got off the phone with him and he said he'll buy it back. He's @ work right now and cant post this message so I am doing it for him. He lost it on a charter trip.

  3. Yankee;

    I also droped in for the first time on 4/22 and I had the same problem. Overheating @ trolling speeds. When I Increased RPM boat temp drops. WATER PUMP/IMPELLER.

    I pulled the boat and she's back in the drive way. I saw that 2 of the gaskets were worn thru on the pump assy, from sucking up sand I think. I put a new pump kit on.

    I did not line up the shaft & gear right and striped the lower shift shaft... Ohhh it gets better. I discover another optional problem lower shift shaft bushing is just about worn thru. Now the entire out drive is split in half and in the garage until I can order the parts for her.

    Anyone local have a Mercury engine / outdrive alignment tool I can borrow??

  4. My 2 cents. Like NY said before the weekend would be great. Thursday or Friday night. The how and where would be most current on this day for the guys that only get out on weekends. I fish in the evenings after work a lot and of course almost every weekend. We all know how conditions change IE where the fish are, what depth, what’s the bite on ect ect ect. This would help the people that only get out on weekends.

    As for after the weekend warriors get out I think Monday night while it's still locked in the old noggin.

  5. Ray;

    I mostly run them with 11" flashers no lead. As far as leads when I run them clean short leads right off the ball up to 15 feet. Tweak the head to get a nice spin on them.

  6. Lee;

    Sounds like a good plan... I know the Sodus guys would be a great help on setting this up. I think there should be a limit on the number of people per boat, Keep the rod count even. Not all of use have Super tankers. Count me in. I would also like to see some sort of event happen in my neck of the woods I-Bay.
