The way I would wire the back of that boat is to run both engines off the same cranking battery. The second battery would be considered the "house battery" and most likely a deep cycle. You connect those two batteries with a automatic charging relay (ACR). Blue Sea Systems make them along with a few other manufacturers. When the ACR senses that the cranking battery is getting a charge it opens up the relay to charge the house battery. You would hook your downriggers to the house battery. This way no matter what engine is running a charge is going into the house battery. If the DR's kill the house battery it will not effect your ability to crank over your engines. 

Edit: I may have read your post wrong and both engines are hooked to one cranking battery along with your downriggers. As long as your kicker has an alternator in it you'll be fine to run your downriggers on that cranking battery.

If you want to consider Starcraft come and see me at Krenzer marine. We have some left over 2022's we're highly motivated to move. In that 16-18' range we carry the Storm and Delta models. The nice thing about the Starcraft is their rich history for starters. They are also 1 piece hulls unlike a lot of their competition. They also utilize as thick or thicker hulls than their competition.  They also have a very good warranty on hull and components.

This card is not able to be updated due to it's age. It's been in my Humminbirds for 8-10 years. Nothing really has changed in Lake Ontario, so it's still good, but I have purchased a new one that will give me the latest and greatest. A new one is $250. Selling this card for $100.

This card should be able to be used in all the major brands except Garmin as long as they take a SD card or Micro SD card.

100% go with the 72" shaft. I rig that combo all the time here at the marina. I can get you one and install it if you'd like.

These aren't brand new. They've been in use on the Yankee. The Cannon labels have faded on most, which was the biggest factor in replacing them. They aren't as tight as new ones, but not overly sloppy.

Good stuff! I have the platinum plus card in my HB, along side my Lakemaster, but I have never updated it. Might have to take a look at that.

They will change the way you feel your boat rides. Definitely a back saver. We put them in a lot of Starcraft boats we sell. Not sure of where you're located, but if you're near the Sodus Point area I have them in stock.

You don't want Livescope for trolling. The PS30 Panoptix transducer is what everyone's using for live sonar. I carry them at Krenzer marine, and I can drop ship them. Let me know what other questions you may have.

We install AP's on power assist I/O's all the time. Si-Tex is probably the cheapest option, but Garmin does well with it as well. If you do switch over to hydraulic steering then Raymarine EV150 would be my recommendation. Either way, I can sell it to you. If you need it installed we can do that too. 

If you stay with the power assist cable steer there are two options for drives. The easiest one goes behind the helm and requires about 10" of depth behind the spot where the steering wheel sits.

Everything I've listened to on podcast or on YouTube is where I learned to stay away from the cheaper Amazon China Lithiums and stick with a reputable company like Pro Guide, Lithium Pros, IONIC, and so on. Yes, I believe most, if not all, Lithium's are made in China, but build specs and BMS specs for the higher end brands I would imagine should be better. There's actually a guy who makes power boxes on YouTube that will go into each battery brand and break it down on its construction and tests their specs they claim. He really likes the Amped Outdoor batteries, which can be found at FishUSA. These more reputable companies, like Pro Guide, have guys that fish for a living relying on their batteries. If they fail that professional fisherman you'd know. Especially if it cost them $100,000 tournament. Pro Guide has some of the countries biggest names relying on their batteries. We've sold a dozen of them over about the last two years and have not had one come back.

I am carrying Pro Guide lithium batteries at Krezner Marine. I carry the 100ah 12v, 24v, and 36v options. Everyone I've talked with about lithium batteries recommends going with a reputable brand and not cheap China junk from Amazon. Give me a call if you're interested.

If you have an inboard then a thru-hull is recommended. That Garmin can run an Airmar B60. You'll be much more happy with your sonar's performance going with the B60. I know it sounds over-whelming, and if it is get it professionally installed, but it's just a hole saw in the bottom of the boat. We do it weekly here at Krenzer Marine. It's a rectangular cone that shoots down, so at the transducer it isn't a very big cone.
