Bass guys kill me as well. Get a $70,000 Ranger and add $7,000 in electronics and $5,000 in power poles and then fish in two feet of water next to a dock.

Hahaha   That is funny right there!  Of course I'm sure many anglers out there can look and laugh at us musky anglers too (like that fact I will spend $100+ dollars on a single lure that looks so nice I won't even run it).   I'll keep an eye out for you Bob on the boat front.  The classifieds here on LOU are awesome for used boats.  I hope you end up finding one you like before the Gan tournament.

  2. The Offshore Classic, the Sandy Creek Shootout and maybe even a bass pro shops all coming to the central basin?  Things are looking up!  Nice job getting this going guys.

Be sure to post it on the LOU Calendar:  https://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/calendar/

With the new forum software, all events posted on the LOU calendar are automatically pulled into our monthly email which goes out to 19,000+ members (free of course so long as you list LOU as a sponsor of the tournament - which you guys always do, so thanks!).  The events posted on the calendar are now also displayed on the bottom of the sidebar on the site as well.  You guys have our support

  3. If the end goal is to see a re-introduction of the stocking program back into Lamoka lake, then providing evidence to the DEC that they already exist in there is step 1.  I believe it helps make their job easier to stock a lake that already has a population of fish species in there vs. trying to make the case for "introducing a new species" into a system.   As it currently stands, the DEC does not officially recognize muskies as being in Lamoka.

While the tournament could help with this, you really want to see the DEC capture some in the spring trap netting this year.

I believe that there is also already a study done on stocking muskies in Lamoka.  Mike might be able to shed more light on that study.  To the best of my knowledge the biggest concern is the oxygen levels on Lamoka.

  4. Content Writer for Bi-Monthly Article in Magazine

    Hi LOU members -

I'm looking for a writer to draft a single article on a bi-monthly basis (6 articles per year).  The article will consist of 300 words give or take 100.  The main sections of the article would be broken down into a general fishing report for each of the five (5) great lakes - Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior.  The information for these reports can come as a summary from the reports posted by the members of our forums, friends, personal experience, etc.

Obviously the reports will not be real-time like they are here on LOU - the idea is to get a general idea of what is going on currently.

I'm happy for the work and you can choose to have your name included or not on the article by-line.  Send me a PM if you are interested and your asking price per article.

    Thanks!

    Chad

  5. Would love to see them setup something like what we have here on LOU here in Rochester NY but on the East (Oswego) or West (Niagara) end of the lake / maybe even North shore too (Toronto?).   Nothing tells you the weather like a live web cam that is clear and close to the water (see link below and scroll down a bit).

I have the resources to do this, just need the counties to supply funding to purchase cameras and get it setup.
