I use the #1 Luhr Jensen dipsy and the large Walker. The reason I still use the luhr jensen is because of the color.

I had 1 in my hand today. They are really smooth. The only down fall, I did not like the line counter. I would like to try a couple.

Ironangler, His flies are well made and catch fish. I always have a white spin doctor and hammer fly down.

scott, sorry to hear about your mom. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

i'm not suprised either. it was not a good show.

happy birthday clarke.

I use a 40# leader . There is no stretch in the wire so you need heavy line and a very loose drag.
-
Number 1 would be ok for pulling dipsies. I perfer a shorter rod than 10 ft but a lot of guys use rods in that length.

i am a diehard giants fan and i am with vince... no trash talking. oh ya, manning sucks!

I have tried just about every spinning reel out there. I really like the Diawa SS Tournament 700. This is my 5th year on these reels and never a problem. I think they were about $100.00 each.

Fishing was real tough by the salmon river. We only did 1 fish in 71fow on a dipsy rod out 150ft. Double glow spin dr with a glow hammer fly about 8:00. that was it for the day. marked very few fish and saw even fewer nets fly. the water temp in the bay is 63* top to bottom at least out to 120ft. talk to a guy at the launch and he said he went out to 210 and found 58* but no fish and little bait. I am done for the year on my boat. time to move to cayuga and pound some perch. for the people going out tomorrow... good luck.

What was the winning trout for the derby?

nice set up! thats sweet. I never wanted a hard top but that has the best of both worlds.
-
Nice looking boat scott, congrats. what motor does i have?
-
your first that snapped the leader was the fish got the leader caught on the back of the trebles. Put a little epoxy in the V of your trebles. second problem, use at least 40# line between your dipsey and your flasher. what kind of reel are you using and when was the drag last serviced? When i first started fish ontario i used cheap swivels. line twist kills your mono, use quality swivels. they cost about a buck a piece but a new flasher and fly cost a lot more.
