    I have been looking for a couple of years. i have settled on a furuno fcv 587. i am sure the other 2 you mentioned are good but the furuno is a great unit for the fishing i do..

    because of the way the prop turns. the port side the prop is coming up and pushes water onto the face of the transducer.

    I run 12lb torpedo on mine. never had a problem. those motors can handle 12s all day no problem.

    I have for sale a box i have used for storing my reels, fishing line and jig and lure making items in. it is a real nice piece.it has a removable top tray with more storage underneath. i no longer have a fishing room so i want to sell it. i cant remember the dimensions but i think it is 46x16x16. asking price is 75.00 pick up in Syracuse area.

    they would work good. They hold a lot of line and they might be overkill.

    I have a spoon box and a attractor storage bag for sale. The attractor wrap has 20 pockets for 8in dodgers or attractors. 25.00 for the box and 15.00 for the attractor wrap. Pick up in Syracuse area or pay actual shipping.

    I have a pair of Cannon Uni Troll downriggers. They need a couple of new ends. They have extendable booms. One has coated cable on it the other one needs new cable. I have 1 low profile non swivel base . $150.00. pick up in Syracuse area or you pay for shipping.

    I have a pair of Diawa line counter reels. One has been upgraded by Tuna Tom. Has new drag and new handle. The other one is stock. 50.00 for the upgraded one and 30.00 for the stock one. Add 7.50 per reel for shipping or pick up in Syracuse area.

    scott, I really like the looks of that boat. it is really nice. how tall is the hard top.

    I don't have a picture of my boat in action, so this will have to do. its a 2005 starcraft 221. it has a Volvo 3.0 liter. that makes it different and I like the Volvo.

    everybody has their preferences. I like stand alone units. that way I get a full view gps and fishfinder.

    I run garmin ffers too. I have no knowledge of the 740. my unit is about 8 years old and never had a problem with it. try going to the hull truth and look in the electronics section.
