  1. the cooling tower is 6 miles from the little salmon river. then alcan is 4 more miles. http://marine.geogarage.com/routes
  2. The 5 stacks is alcan, which is about 2 miles west of the plant.
  3. tough luck, go to the 5 stacks and look around you will like what you see.
  4. We launched out of oswego at 6:15am. I headed for the area of the 5 stacks and set up in 200fow. Set a northeast troll. Checked the water temp and had 48 down 75 feet. set my riggers at 76, 94, 104. set my wires out 304 and 285. We did our first king at 283fow on the 76 rigger, black and silver mag R&R. when we hit 308 the 104rigger goes with a white, green dot pro troll flasher with a hammer fly. then the 76 rigger goes off for a double but i dropped the fish right away. we went the next 2 hours and didnt move a rod. then we started hitting several fish in the 320 foot area. I put a Attomick Crome killer spinny with a green crinkle fly down 126. That rig and the 104 rigger did all the rest of the fish. I only had 1 rip on the dipsies. That is reaally strange for my boat, usually the dipsies catch most of my fish. We ended up 7/12 5 kings and 2 coho. we dropped a lot of fish, they would be there for a couple of seconds and gone. Most of the fish were about 1/2 mile east of the 5 stacks in 320-328fow. hopefully i can get out saturday if the winds are kind.
  5. Fished out of wrights landing this morning. The fishing was slow for us. Trolled between 160 and 380. Only did 1 king, Got it in 300fow on a dipsey out 355. Crome green dot spinny with a shreded 42nd fly. Got that fish just a little west of alcan. That was it I didnt know where to start there was a lot of cold water shallow so I fished out deeper. Im on vacation so I hope to get out again Tuesday.
  6. i used them about 10 years ago with roller releases. We missed more fish that weekend on the dipseys than I miss in a whole year!
  7. Nice brown. It would be nice if they are making a come back in that lake. In the early 80s we used to get a lot of double digit browns out of there.
  8. we got out from 1 to 4 yesterday. went west and did 3 nice kings. the biggest was a little over 24lb. all on gator spinny with a b fly on a wire dipsey out 325. 120-140 fow.
  9. Heading tp wilson tomorrow morning for 4 days. Anyone else going to be up there?
  10. scott, congrats on cashing a check. that field is loaded with great fisherman. Last year you told me about rons morning wood fly. It was a great fly all year.
  11. i hope you find them scott. we are headed out there on thursday for 4 days.
  12. i dont remember the year, maybe 87,88. i was straight out from fair haven in about 300fow. the guy at the launch told me to use a black and silver spoon so i put one down on a downrigger. i did 2 kings that day and was so pumped! i still get excited every time someone catches a king on my boat.
  13. cheez it snack mix double cheddar or pringles
  14. there is guy that lives near cortland he ties them. he ties jigs too and sells them at Forest Fisheries in Homer. Call them they probably have his #. longliner jigs if im not mistaken.
  15. what flies are you running with these. i dont do much with those 2 spinnies
  16. I have never had to fix it but Hank said they are more than mercs to fix. like lakebound said the engines are about the same. the difference is the outdrive and they are smooth.
  17. i have a 2005 carbed 3.0 liter. the only problem so far is it came with a holly carb. Hank tuned it and its much better. never had a problem with the outdrive. i like the way goes in gear, very smooth.
  18. Happy birthday glen. i will see you in the spring.
  19. you can run 3 lines per licensed angler. I would install a 2 ft track for 3 rods. its not the distance apart as much as the different angles of the rods. i just buy replacement line for my planer reels. some people use weed wacker line.
