  4. I bought this 1600' spool of Ande 30# line beginning of the season as a spare and never used it. I've since switched to green line on my reels and no longer need this spool. Paid $52, yours for $35. Thanks! Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Not sure where you're located, but there's a marine canvas shop in Pulaski on Manwaring Road between Rt41 and S Daysville Road. I can picture the building but can't remember the name of the company, despite passing it all the time. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Lighthouse Marina launch is also open Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. I'll never go on the lake again without my kicker. I took it off one weekend to do some work to it back home, but didn't get the kicker completed before I came back to the lake. Took the boat out without the kicker and the main engine died coming back in late afternoon. Wouldn't restart. I had to call for help and be towed in from about 5 miles out. Kicker would have saved the day. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I got word yesterday that they closed the launch. Not good, especially seeing the projections from Plan 2014 that the lake is due to rise another 10 inches through June and not fall below 247' until September. Anyone seen Pine Grove launch, by chance? If Mexico is this bad, I'm sure Pine Grove is under water by now. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  10. I'm upgrading my electronics this season and am selling my existing units. Raytheon RC 425 chartplotter with all cables and wiring. Raystar 120 GPS antenna included, along with the mounting bracket for the chartplotter. Unit has an SD slot for the chart card, but no card is included. New internal battery installed by Raymarine (3) years ago. Asking $125 for everything and I will ship for free. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. I have (2) batteries on my Islander. Group-24 as the starting battery for the main engine. I have a Group-27 deep cycle which powers ALL my electronics (GPS, VHF radio, fish finder, AM/FM radio and downriggers). Both batteries are connected to the main engine through an isolator which charges both batteries when the engine is running. I have a switch at the dash which allows me to engage or disengage the isolator should I need to. I did this so my main engine battery is always isolated from all electronic devices and any parasitic draw. Guarantees the main battery always has enough juice to fire up the main engine. I've been running this system since 2005 and just replaced the 24 last year and the 27 in 2014. Sent from my XT1060 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  13. Has anyone printed out the registration application available online and done the process that way? I won't be up to the lake to getting the Pulaski DMV until March at the earliest and thought of getting this taken care of before the season starts. 14. All the paperwork and documents for the Mexico Bay come to my PA address. I cannot get a residency status in NY because I do not live there. I am merely there on weekends. All my registrations go by my driver's license, it's how the process works here. I printed out the paperwork to do a NY registration and they ask for your mailing address and your driver's license number and state of issue. I cannot provide them a NY residency status because I don't live there more than 90 days out of the year. This is a dilemma I'm trying to figure out to register the boat in NY. Look, I never was looking to start a debate, just a friendly question of what everyone does and gather opinions. Thanks for everyone's input and opinions. 15. Moonfish, First off, let me thank you for your reply and input. Now, a little about me. I have been fishing Lake Ontario for the better part of 40 years, ever since I was a kid. My family has had property along Mexico Bay since the early 1900's and I currently have property along the lake shoreline. I pay property taxes, school taxes and flood insurance, all for a property I use 6 months out of the year. I'm not some out-of-stater that randomly drives up to the lake. My original post was merely a question as to what other out of staters do and if anyone knows of any truth to what I was told by the DEC officer. That's all. I'm not "whining" or feeling priviledged for utilizing Lake Ontario for my recreational purposes. I purchase an out-of-state NY fishing license every year and it is the ONLY fishing license I have. I do not have a PA fishing license and haven't in over 20 years.
