  1. Looking for an EZ-Steer kit to go from MerCruiser Alpha One outdrive to small Johnson outboard. Minimum length of the connecting shaft needs to be 38". Thanks!! Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  3. Do you need a Simrad chartplotter/GPS for it to link to the coordinates or does it use a stand-alone GPS module to get the coordinates? Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. I'm looking to add an autopilot to my 2000 Starcraft Islander 221. It has the 4.3L, rack and pinion cable steering and power assist. Are there any systems on the market that bolt to the existing rack and pinion behind the dash panel and would allow me to use the current steering system on the boat? A lot of the kits I'm seeing are all hydraulic and require a lot of work and changes to the boat to get the autopilot installed and operational. I'm a weekend warrior and not on the water every weekend. Thanks for any input. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I also have the Interstate 24M-XHD as my starting battery, but I have a Group 27 deep cycle which powers ALL of the electronics (downriggers, GPS, chartplotter, depth finder, AM/FM, etc), except the bilge pump, which is tied to the main battery. I have a relay system which charges both batteries while the engine is running, but disconnects them when the engine is off. That way, I'm sure the starting battery will have enough juice to start the engine and the 24M isn't being drawn down by the electronics. I also have an on-board dual bank charger for when the boat is on the trailer back at the house. I've had excellent luck with Interstate through the years. 12. I ordered another 24M-XHD from Interstate. Figured if it held up all these years, just duplicate what works. No sense wasting time researching other options. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Just concluded that my starting battery bit the dust and need it to get the engine running so I can winterize it. The battery is (4) years old and has seen alot of use in those years. I've always used Interstate for my starting and deep cycle batteries. I was just going to get another 24M-XHD Interstate and be done with it, as it's stood the test of time. I'm wondering if there's any other batteries out there that are highly recommended that won't break the bank. I'm looking at strictly starting, not a dual-purpose starting/deep cycle. I have a deep cycle for all my electronics. Thanks for the input! Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Check the prop hub and make sure it didn't spin. Guy near me had an issue with his 150 Mercury last week. At idle, boat would move fine. Anything above 1500 or so and boat wouldn't move, no forward movement. The prop hub was toast. Replaced it and back in business. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. My 2000 Islander 221 has a 52 gallon tank. Starcraft's webpage has an archive section with info on the older and out of production boats. I don't recall how far back it goes, however. Sent from my moto z4 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
