  1. My first set of these riggers came used on a boat I bought back in the 80s. Parts are real scarce now .I have two more replacement riggers like this in the garage ready to go. These still haul a 12lb ball up from 160ft like nothing. The counters are not real accurate anymore I just dial them in on the depthfinder.  The tag on this one says 1985...  My math says 37 years old and still going strong.  Will definately outlast me.  I have one I have cannibalized for parts .It still ran but gears were worn out.. They dont make em like this anymore..

  2. We fished both days. The wind was relentless.. We boated probably around 25 fish. All lakers. Had one on board Sat.8.5 lbs. Had a friend call me Sunday and said if its not 10lbs don't come down to weigh so I did not see final board. I have a cool video of my boat bouncing in the waves but its to large to download... I included a pix of ole wILLIE at the weigh in Sat. Just turned 80.  rode the waves for two days.. All fish scraped off the bottom with cowbells.

  3. Had a friend up from Florida last week. I been bragging about all the fish we catch on Cayuga. Fished basically the same waters you are describing . Ended up with 3 lakers to small to trip release. I figure they swam back over to Seneca.....

  4. Congratulations on the win. We fished basically the same water. 12 plus hours both days.. All our fish came scraping the bottom. No lampreys. Nothing big enough.. Got loaded up with weeds twice in the area of high banks in the morning. The bait and fish seemed to be under the weeds. Decided to go back there later in the day and run a 2 rod spread well tended. Weeds were completely gone so was the fish and bait . Maybe next year.

     All riggers   1 diver fish

  5. It was 1st time fishing at Wilson...Slow morning for the marks we had two low teen salmon in the box.. Later in the day we decided to bounce bottom with cowbells for the lakers we were marking . They werent lakers  caught two high teen salmon on cowbells.

Counted around 80 boats around us that we could see... Only seen one other boat scoop up a fish.

We did not drop any fish.

  6.  Yes , Hughes marina area.   Dont know about rest of lake.  But I checked the map for Niagra Bar it looks detailed havent been there yet. Unbelieveable accuracy for fingerlakes. Mine is G3 mapping not sure what the very new ones are.   The FF works great also.

  7. Reel Doc   Years ago I was at the Harrisburg PA outdoor show. I bought a pink downrigger rod. I ran it for years on the starboard rigger. It caught more salmon than everyrod in the boat combined. Finally the pink color faded out and I dont know what ever happened to the rod. Anyway this winter I did some utube search and I painted up several rods .. I now have pink, purple. blue.  It is great when you have strangers in the boat and you get a hit. pink rod! blue rod ! whatever. Any way its give them a light sanding, get some rustolim paint. Tape off the eyelets . coat with clear. It seems very durable.. Thanks for noticing..

I would think very talented guys who paint the lures would get into rodpainting.
