  1. I was wondering what everyone recommended for motor oil. What weight and brand. I have a 230 horse mercruiser motor in my boat. I can't remember off hand what weight oilI used last season. I will have to look in my garage.

  2. 1.reel on the wire then take it to the lake and put a 1 lb ball or weight and let all of the wire out(make sure the wire is on the spool so it won't come off :) )then reel it back in and that shoud put it on nice and tight.

I do something slightly different. The only thing I do different is use a dipsey that is released. Let all of the wire out and reel it back in.

  3. One thing to watch with the Scotty's is the clutch lever. If they are mounted at the right hight and you hit the button to bring the ball up, It can hit you in the nuggets. I had this happen on a buddies boat. Me personally I do not like the Scotty's. I'm a firm believer in you pay for what you get. I have 4 Cannons on my boat (2 mag 20's and 2 mag 15's). The are super fast and reliabe. I don't like the fact that the Scotty's are belt driven. What do you do if a belt breaks? Another thing is the auto stop on the Scotty's. You have to place beeds on the cable. If you get weeds in the beeds, it will break the antena on your Moor subtroll (if you run the subtroll). The cannons auto stop without stupid beeds on your cable. I'm also a firm beliver in the positive ion control.

  4. I made it over to the NK sale today. What a deal on spoons. The spoons w/o hooks were $1.50 and the spoons w/ hooks were $1.75. They had every size spoon out. I baught 4d's, 28's, mags, and M-80's. They also had a bunch of overstock tapes. I ended up buying 44 new spoons. There were 2 guys there that drove all the way from Ottawa Canada for the sale. I highly recommend getting there A.S.A.P.
