Just had a 2.5 year old get the heart racing. I was checking this thread for updates and when I looked up a buck was standing in front of me about 70 yards. It's funny how quiet the woods gets half way through gun season. I think we have all tried to convince ourselves that the deer just left our zip code and must be in some secret spot somewhere miles away. A garden of eden, where deer hide until the day after the season. Then you show up to your spot with two day old snow and the deer tracks are endless. Now I have I have to convince myself all over again that deer do still live here. Literally ever where I look there is a set of tracks. Every possible deer trail has tracks on it zig zagging all around my stand. Maybe they are trying to tell me something. Like hey you, yeah you, go f yourself. Damn deer. The tracks don't lie. I have have standing corn and they want to be here. I have the best food source that isn't buried under three inches of snow. For God sakes man show yourselves!!! November 29 pm 37 degrees W wind 5-15 Cloudy Hunted a new stand tonight. It would make for a spectacular rifle stand if they were legal. Lots of deer tonight and on their feet fairly early in the cut corn. 16-21 deer seen. All flatheads from what I could see. A bunch of turkeys also. Got stuck in the stand until 530 because of some late arrivals to the field. Coyotes were yipping and howling again on my way out. Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

November 28 pm 37 degrees WNW wind 5-15 with gusts 20+ Cloudy Wet snow/ sprinkles Heard some early shooting between 3-330. Thought I was in store for some good movement but not really. Everything I saw tonight was after 430. 8-10 deer. Some chasing on the far end of the field. Tough to tell what anything was so close to dark. About 5ish the coyotes sounded off. Yipping and howling.
