I have a LOCBA meeting tonight so no stand time for me tonight. Knowing that I went and hung a new set when I got out of work. Im typically an edge or a fringe hunter and this set is deep in the middle of the woods. Primary bedding all around me. No humans ever venture this deep. Not even the trespassers lol. I actually had to get adjoining landowners permission for access. I needed a back door entrance in order for it to work and this was it. Set was hung for northerly winds so I will have to pick my days wisely but gun season I should get plenty of chances to use it.

October 31 pm 59 degrees Variable wind Cloudy with occasional rain shower Slow up until about 500 and then the deer were on their feet. Maybe they were waiting for the rain to pass before they got out of their beds. 18 deer seen from the stand tonight including 4 bucks. And another 7 seen on the walk out in the adjacent field. Well 2 new sets hung this afternoon on a new property. 2 more to hang. Hopefully this this week.

October 30 am 31 degrees Clear skies S wind 5 mph Clear, crisp, and frosty start this morning. Lots of deer on their feet too. 18 deer total including 6 bucks. No shooters. A quick update from me on my season so far... Ughhh... I have yet to hunt this year. Work is killing me. My construction world has been crazy this year and has been since the covid out break. The issue is that everything on the books for 2022 needs to be done before old man winter arrives. With that being said I should be caught up enough with work in the next couple of weeks and Im hoping I can begin my annual grind about the 3rd week of October. Fingers crossed. I did take some time yesterday, midday, to visit a few stands and do some final tweaks on them. The real purpose of the trip in the woods was to move a stand that I found was hanging in a dead tree. That has been rehung and actually I like the new spot better than the old.
