We were at mil's also. My dad is in cottage #2. We had the 16' tracker at the end of the left dock. Small freaking world huh? Which cottage were you guys in?

I've got 18 more years to get into joe's situation. At least I know it's coming!

The last couple of years I've been running more 4 wire dipsy spreads. The outriggers keep my "high" dipsy away from my low dipsy much better. Most of the time if I'm running just 2 wires then I won't use my outriggers.

Bass fishing is great in the Islands right now! We limited out everyday w/ no problem. 90% of the smallmouths were over 12" and the average size was around 15". I caught my personal best at 20" on a drop shot rig. It was 5.6lbs and had a girth of 15 3/4". We used drop shot rigs, bass minnows and trolling hot-n-tots in about 15'-30fow. Some of the fish had eggs in them and my big one had a semi digested goby in it's mouth.
The perch fishing is also great. Up to 13" was the biggest. You could catch them on anything. We even caught 25 between 9 and 13" while trolling for smallmouth one morning.
Good luck if you go!

Thanks guys. Rob picked up the cash and prizes. I guess it was $175 cash and a bunch of gift certificates. He must have used them to buy tackle at narby's and capt. cove. Along with going to the black north for lunch and putting the leftovers in the babe winkleman battery operated vacume sealer!

Legacy (Rob) joined us to fish the open division on sunday morning. We fished till 11am and ended up 6-7 w/ 3 kings, 2 lakers and a coho. We went to the weigh-in w/ our biggest 3 fish and totaled 37.97lbs for a total of 67.97pts. We were in 1st until a team brought in 38.98lbs of fish for 68.98 pts. They had a great 23lb king in their box. We ended up in 2nd place by 1 pt!
We fished 100-120 fow w/ everything coming about 35-50 feet down. Speed was 2.2 at the ball. Fishlander dark purple w/ chart. down one edge did most of the fish. It seemed like tough fishing for most guys.
Good luck

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
====================
Took my niece and nephew out for the first time and they did awesome for how young they are. Mostly all rigger hits and only a couple hits on the wire w/ smartfish. Mostly a rigger day for everyone I think. Biggest king was 15#.

Don't catch all the fish tomorrow. We'll be out on Sunday.A buddy of mine put 37 fish on in that 240' area last Sat. He boated 19 kings up to 19#'s. A bunch of small ones also in the mix. It could be different now. Just an FYI.
Good luck!

I'm running the 13# Ridgeback's and not having a problem either.
-
No way! Don't worry, we'll find a replacement no problem.
-
Put some ski's on that dude!

Keith has a new name now: Nothing but "black cloud"
This is a good thing for me since I owned the black cloud title last year.

Ummmmm.... May I have my lure back?

7-11 this morning w/ most of the fish caught before 10am. 130'-150' in front of the pump house. 3 color cores went a bunch of times, surface spoons a couple times, 10 color cores and dipseys at about 50' w/ 3 setting. Stinger coyote and the fire tiger smartfish w/ blue fly took most of the fish. Kings and rainbows were caught by everyone out there.
Good luck

Ray, It was nice to finally meet you guys . I hope paul wasn't too rough on you.

Nice job ray. Gotta be a little tough by yourself.

Even though I have fished mother's day in the past, it was NOT a good decision on my part. Last year was the first year I didn't.This is what the wifey looked like after fishing that day . I've never liked them dates either and even though the grand prize hasn't been caught on the west end lately, they do get most of the king and laker entries. I fish it for the enjoyment of it and hope I may get a rainbow or brown to weigh in. This year I am celebrating mother's day on Sat. the 2nd so I can go to wilson for the scotty tournament. That did make things a BIT better w/ the wife.

I use the regular size flies and have no problem putting the coho's or bows in the boat. My best set up is wire dipsey 30'-80' out set on a #3. Flasher/fly or spoons (c-5 five of diamonds or 28's trolled fast).

High techs and ass. spoons.

Legacy joined us today as we fished from 6am-noon. We ended the day 10-13 w/ the biggest being 9 1/2lb brown. 3 lakers, 4 bows, 1 coho, 1 atlantic and 1 brown. We started w/ a couple of fish early in 200fow and then didn't have a hit for about 2 and a half hours. We got into 65-70fow trolled east and kept the bottom speed at 1.8-2.0mph and the top speed was about 1.4mph. We changed everything over to purple/silver nklites and crippled alwives. Then we started poppin fish on everything. Cores at 10 color, divers at 130'-150' and the riggers between 50' and 65'feet down. You definitely had to be slow traveling east to get anything to go. The current seems to be a little too fast for the browns liking right now.
It ended up being a fun day and look forward to getting out later this week and the weekend. Good luck.
