  1. I like the northern end near frontenac as previously stated. You can hammer perch and bass when your not trolling. Also it is close to boat acccessible wineries and good eating via the boat as well. Minutes away from the canal system if you want to take a cruise up the locks too. 20 minutes from bass pro is nice . Nas well. No where near as much boating, skiing, tubing and jet skiis on the north end compared to the south end in my opinion. The only thing I think the south end has over the north end is the early spring fishery for trolling is usually better. Skip a step and go troll Ontario for a weekend. You will forget about the Cayuga trout. lol That is exactly what I did. Love Cayuga but I lost interest in trolling it except for when my boy takes me out in his rig. Good luck

  2. My efforts finally paid off. I was working at camp when my oldest boy Gray Jr. came in and said, "Dad, take a break, I am taking you fishing. How do you argue with that? His boat, his rigs, (thanks Frank, a.ka. home office, uncle dirty, elk banger, train wreck, gadget head, etc) Calm seas and good fishing. He even packed us easter candy snacks and a beer for me. lol. We had a blast! A day I will never forget. Thanks buddy by the way, you have the trolling bug BAD!

  3. I consider one of the perks being the coast guard station is minutes away and easy radio distance from anywhere I fish. They "check" my boat every year at least once and although it can be a pain when you are trying to run out and fish or coming in, it doesnt take long and they have always been pleasant. It is a real peace of mind for me and my young family. The convenience of town and the best bagel and sandwich shop around is a perk too. Hotels for fishing guests and good restuarants are an added bonus. The only drawback I see is the Harbor fest traffic that infests Wrights Landing. Absolutely make a mess of the park and "Our" bathhouses. :@
