  1. Back in the 90's there was a walleye population out of the Little Salmon,Mexico Point. If you go to the Eastern Lake Ontario Salmon and trout Ass. web sight and ask, some of the loc.Capts. Members could help you out. You could go out and run a walleye pattern and see that happens But I think it was a spring early summer fishery. Like Gambler said you could try Oneida,I had a banner year there and the Jack perch are biting but you have find then. Good luck.

  2. Mike take a few minutes and read the back posts on those subjects and you'll find everything you need to to catch a good one. Next you will need to put some time in on the water to get it all working . You know your going to ruin that poor kid life if you get that salmon. Well good luck and good fishing.

  3. 15, the old timers on the finger lakes used 1/4sticks and drove the wardens nuts. I netted mooneyes out of the Oswego river in the spring when they were running. They ran after the smelt run. Use a legal size smelt net. Got them on either side of the river,at that time the school was three foot wide from top to bottom. I've seem them in the inlet of Ibay also. I don't think you can move fast enough to get them in a 36by36 but you can try. Good luck.

  4. I'm thinking Of going to meyers friday and do a little spying, I mean fishing and spend the night at the park instead of driving there in the morning. Will I need a camp site or can I just pull the boat into the parking lot and sleep in the truck. If I need a camp site would I be able to get one.

  5. salmonite, they liked chartreuse pretty well. Used glow purple on dark windy afternoon and killed them, nothing on that color since. Fishing was slow this morning, was out at dawn and never hit a eye till about 8:30.Did four total for the morning, but I've done worse.

  6. skipper, I don't know why your so surprised , don't you remember the the middle nineties when the bait numbers were way down and they cut stocking in half to save the bait population. I chartered out of Sodus at the time and it got so bad you couldn't buy a solmon. I don't think the bait schools are big enough to feed all the small fish you all are complaining about and the big ones that are out there. The DEC. doesn't know how much reproduction there getting from the Salmon river or any other place theres natural reproduction. The netpen stocking is working very well so there's a bigger return from them. Maybe it's good there was a egg shortage last fall.Maybe It would be better to cut back the stocking just a little now and see where it goes now instead of waiting till we have disaster. Hey if the browns and laker's get to liking the gobie's it might take the pressure off the mooneyes, who knows maybe the salmon are feeding on them also. I'm not predict the demise of lake O. Have a nice day and don't forget you rain coat.

  7. Got out early6:00 and set up in 50fow.Trolled out to about 125fow marked a little bait and a few fish around 95fow.Had spoons on one rod and spin doc (white) green fly on other, cheaters on both. Two nock offs on spoons no body home. hooked up on spin doc, landed a nice brown in about 75fow Fish went up around 10 lbs.Started marking fish when it hit. Thats it got my one fish limit quit around noon. Have a safe weekend

  8. Sal. 2.3 won't cut it in the wind. You won't be able to steer with it.A 4-5-6-HP would be fine. You should consider the added weight of a higher HP engine. Ya you would want the alternator. I ran a 3.9 on a 16ft and it was good most of the time. Its sure nice to have that second motor, get enough to push the boat in rough water. Good luck.
