  1. I am looking for a resident in the dexter, chaumont, area or on the st. lawrence from a-bay west that may have extra dockage to rent on a season basis. I have a 20' cuddy bayliner with somewhat shallow draft. If intrested reply to [email protected] .
  2. now that's hard core!! nice fish, you are brave to be out there. be safe!
  3. I don't ice fish but i love to read chaumont reports. thanks for taking the time
  4. I read an article in the watertown press wich listed the report of ssg. Linde's death in defense of our country. He was a highly decorated soldier including the bronze star. The article also stated that he served many tours in harms way. He was a true american hero and we are all in debt to him and his family. In fishing in the fort drum area i often encounter servicemen along the shores and tribs. While im no pro, I often go out of my way to help, sugest baits or locations that may help to them catch some fish. Though its not much, we can all go out of our way a little to make them feel at home as they are away from their own home streams and lake's. god bless them all. Thank them whenever you can
  5. we fished thursday thru sunday except when the wind blew us off. that unfortunately was most of the weekend. thursday was beutiful however and we had 4 to 25# in 45-55 fow. on the black river side of ascociation island. we maked verry few fish in sacketts, however no takers. with only one year of experience in this area I am kind of at a loss of when the fish will stage in any numbers in around sackett sunder theese low water conditions. have the numbers passed into the river or is that still to come? i did see fish up near the ladder at dexter flopping in the wash but it sure did not seem like there was too many. the trench also showed verry sparse reedings on the finder. the fish seem to really be scattered. Any advise would be great. the only info i can share is from thursday white herring flasher with white fly 30 down over 45 or 40 down over 55 fow. 20' off the ball slow trolled. good luck. I will be back on the next two weekends to try again. ch. 68 chris.
  6. you are all a great and unselfish group of sportsman to share that information. that is a quality seldom found today. thank you all. chris
  7. wow! i was way too slow. that was surface speed however. Havent convinced the wife that i desperatly need a sub troll. guess ill have to kiss some butt before next year. thanks for the info
  8. i forgot to mention i had 60 ' of mono leader off the copper and 60' off the ball on the riggers.
  9. when fishing a echip flasher fly combo , how much leader is good off of the copper. i have read sugestions that 22' is good off the rigger ball. is this similar?
  10. I fished the trench this past weekend without even a strike. I trolled north and south at 1.8 t0 2.2 mph. my spread was nk 28's on the inside and 8 " flasher e chips with fly's white on white and green on green outside riggers. also ran copper out 300 and 200. I tried from 90' down and as shallow as 30' downover 120 t0 80 fow. I really did not see anyone catching anything either but i was looking for any kind input into something i should have done different ? i am going back up this weekend and would like to catch a few. last year i did fairly well inside black river bay when the fish were staged however it seems like the fish maybe in transition and i have not adapted to them. any advise would be appreciated
  11. anyone fishing the bay yet or is it still better in the trench? ill be there this weekend to give it a try. any info greatly appreciated.
  12. there is a state launch just outside of the north end of chaumont. left turn off of rt. 12 when heading north just past the auto parts store. for smallmouth try in the mouth of the chaumont river under the bridge or the south end of cherry island. pike will be in the deep edges of weedbeds. try "the carrying place" on the southwest side of the bay ant target 18 f.o.w. Don't hold your breath for walleye. there are also good pike weedbeads in front of the campground on the south end of the bay. troll spoons or cast in weedbeads. Good luck chris
  13. hey Rich D. Im not familiar with the south side of the finger. can you describe how to find this area? thanks
  14. you will find some largemouth in the part of chaumont bay near the yacht club. i fish this area often but am not much of a bass fisherman. most of all, thanks for serving our country and best of luck.
  15. considering lower offers, this boat is perfect for the fall run up river. drafts less than a foot of water. willing to negotiate on price.
  16. Up for sale is my 2002/2003 carolina skiff model 21 dlx 21'. it has a 2003 mercury 80 hp jet. This is an oil injected enguine. I purchased this boat new and am the origonal owner. Other than a few nicks from trailering it is in perfect condition. I have used this boat to follow the fish right up the tributaries as it drafts less than 12" of water on plane. another nice feature is that late fall and early winter fishing is ok as ther is no lower unit oil to be winterized. Just grease after each use. this boat has verry low hours and i hate to part with it however the wife wont allow two with the new one i just purchased . The boat is presently stored and can be veiwed in Wind Gap Pa. I Also own property in the Chaumont NY. area and could bring her uponly for the most serious inquiry's. This boat has a 2002 trailer ,bottom line fishfinder, gps, 2 canon downriggers, and other goodies. I have nearly 20 K. invested. First $12'000 takes her. Firm contact me at H-610-746-4773 cell-610-509-9920 [email protected] thanks for the intrest
