    I hear you

3 days out of Wilson in that NE chop with a 19’ boat catching kings was exhausting! 👍

Right on!!!!!   I love watching guys in smaller rigs getting after em... One day I was out in 3s .. good friend was out in his rig ( same size as your rig) right next to me .. a couple times I looked over and just saw the guys heads above the waves ... They were waving having a blast.... Keep after em....

  2. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this pen project possible. The Genesee River Pen raised Kings were released this afternoon. A really good turnout made this work detail go very quickly and efficiently .. thank you!
Now as far as the condition of the fish... They looked great! Very lively, and in great shape. Maybe a handful of dead ones for 6 pens was a fantastic survival rate.
Another good note... The Genny is churning out some chocolate milk water to hide the little guys. And most important, we saw zero Cormorants and gulls around the marina.
The old saying " If you build it, they will come" comes to mind .  So all the hard work and dedication from our volunteers is an investment into this great fishery!

I enjoy your reports back in the early 80’s John and Frances and I fished together a lot out of Braddocks Bay

I’m still at it though on a smaller scale your mention of them brought back great memories

    Tight Lines

John was a fantastic guy.... Really went out of his way and gave me some solid advice.

I ran into Francis a couple years ago. She hasn't changed a bit. We had a lot of laughs reminiscing about the times at Riverview.

       Great folks for sure!

Nice job getting to them early. I did the opposite and put in at 10:30 and couldn’t maintain enough boat control to give myself even a decent chance to connect with a fish.  It was just enough of a NE blow to spin me around if I took my hand off the wheel.  Glad to hear you’re still on them.

That sucks . .  Lake Ontario is a fickle woman.... She gives up her bounty, then let's you know exactly whose in charge

  6. No video from today so here's the good  and Bad...

Good . . Fish were chewing nicely in the piece of water we have been fishing the last couple weeks.

Baits... Natural colors, Fish USA custom smithwicks, Sodus PT Buckeye, green eyeball Stinger, and the DWB stinger. The eyeball and DWB were off #1 Chinook divers out 26 ft...

The bad ... The lake conditions were pretty good to start... As soon as we started to put it on 'em, mother nature decided to PMS. Blew the exact opposite that was forecasted. The NE wind made our pocket of water a washing machine.

So we picked up one fish short of a box and crashed through 'em back to the Dirty G.

The Rochester Basin continues to be Roch Solid. Go gettem fellas!!!!

always enjoy your reports. For us outa state boys who trailer up and pray for smooth seas/no rain, you provide a good stepping off point, almost a headstart for a hopefully successful trip for us.  Appreciated...

Your welcome..... It's a tough call to go or no go if you look at some of the forecasts.... Windfinder app is pretty good.

Many years ago when I first got the MissD, a charter captain named John McCabe took an interest in sharing info with me even though I was still a rec guy. So it's kind of paying John back for the help he gave me

If anyone would like to volunteer to come down to Shumway Marina to feed them at one of the scheduled times, please contact Capt Randy Calus ( Feed schedule coordinator) at (585) 739-0569.
Here are the open times and Dates... Thank you to all  all the volunteers who make this program a continued success.

Took my dad and uncle out today and picked up about 10 browns and nice 15 lb king.  We headed east and then decided to continue past Webster park and ran into a ton of debris. I lost a planer board on a floating tree.  We also saw a 20 foot floating tree in 30 foot of water in front of iBay.

thanks @Missdemeanor for the report yesterday. The eyeball man UV on the chinook took 3 king hits.

    Very cool ..... Great day!!!!

  10. I don't normally get cracked off on kings with 15# unless they take the lure down deep...  In fact I use #15 or #17 all summer on spoon rods.

#15 is usually pretty good and I just have my drags set accordingly ..

As far as flouro.    I absolutely 100% will not run spoons or sticks without it ... You never know what kind of water your going to encounter .

Now brands of Flourocarbon leader material is important also .. I personally had terrible luck with Pline.    I don't only use Seguar.

The wind was out of the south today for the most part correct?   I’m still trying to find the sweet spot where I can fish solo and still maintain boat control with my trolling motor autopilot.  E and W is manageable but anything from the North at 10mph or better sends me in circles.  I’m giving it a shot Sunday and hoping I can last a few hours at least.

Yes ... Started SE.... Then cranked around out of the SW...

Normally not a big deal ... But wind that strong does funny things to maneuverabilty. My boat sits a little higher out of the water, so the wind grabbed it a few times ..

I would have tucked in super tight, but the shoreline was chocolate milk from the Genny and I bay getting flushed with the monsoon we have been getting...

  12. Absolutely....

12 ft+ I use the the #1 chinooks ..... I still might set the sinker rig if I have enough peoples. Sinker rig is a flat line with a rubber core football shaped sinker flat lined out ..

My normal set is 6 board lines, two divers, two sinker sets, and two riggers ...I just pull the divers and riggers out when in less than 10 ft.

  13. Left the dock and thought " this forecast is BS. The lake is mint. Great water color, not  terrible waves." Full send!

Well mother nature decided she was the boss and only allowed us to fish for a short time. The waves never were super big, it was the wind gust that killed us. I use weights on my Amish clipper releases and they were still getting blown up the planer board line.

Called the day early and tucked away the MissD for tomorrow's bigger blow.

We did manage a bit of action though. Report below.
