  1. I would agree with u and think that this fish had lived for quite a while to get that big, which is why i did not hesitate to put it back in the lake. Also, as noted by Captain Pierleoni he is taking clients out and they are catching trophy class lakers here in our lake as opposed to traditional NWT lakes which speeks volumes to the fishery we have available to us. Also with the tough year we had last year the lakers helped save many slow days and what could have been fishless charters for some, so they are a more valuable fish then credit is given too them sometimes.

tight lines to everyone and thank you for the comments

  2. Awsome job. i am glad u started this up again, i loved watching the progression of ur fishing pictures last season, it was my favorite post to follow. u sure have those fish dialed in up their. kudos for taking ur brother out that something he will remember.

    tight lines

  3. You know when you have good friends because they show up on a 25 degree day for an outside project. New planer/ arch system was installed today. Finally cured some cabin fever.

  4. Absoulty beautiful!!!! u are the man and a die hard diver hunter. Nice work on some of the most grueling weather diver hunting has to offer. Its a true pleasure to see old school diver hunters put the effort in to score on those late season birds. I know that its more work then reward usally but all fun when its said and done. Good luck and keep the pics coming.

    Thanks:)

  5. i would recomend doing what u want to do to make ur purchase feel validated. Their can be endless things to look at or for with any type of boat purchase. I had a compression check done on my boats that were purchased and it defiently put my mind at easy before hitting the open water.

    Good luck

  6. I have personally had Shawn Bartnett look at boats for me and would highly recommend him for a survey. He is extremly knowledgeable and will take the time to explain, teach and show u what the condition of the boat is. He has saved me from what cld have some bad choices, tons of money and or real headachs out thier.

Good luck in your quest for a new boat:)

  7. Was it December or April? Today was December 27th but the weather was great and felt more like april. Went out for an afternoon of what will probably be the last day for this years trolling season. Had to start late because of a family obligation but we did manage a decent afternoon bite. Two buddies of mine got on the morning bite and they crushed them early... ( wish i could have been there) Our afternoon bite was slow to start but picked up at last light. We had a wide range of surface temps which scattered the fish a bit. We searched anywhere from 8 - 18 fow. The water was crystal clear from about 12 fow to shore. We sent the planer boards out first thing and our spread consisted of smithwicks, rapalas and challenger sticks. All the sticks were black n silver. Ran two spoons off the riggers but they were silent for the day. leads off the boards were anywhere from 200 back to 75. Our 90 and 75 leads took the most shots and the long lead took our biggest fish of the day. Best speed for the day was right at 2.0mph with an east troll being the best. Our best fish was a nice 12lb male who took off for a nice run the rest were cookie cutter browns 4-6 lbs. It was a blast hearing the line scream from the drag like a salmon. I thought this would cure the trolling itch but it only added more fuel to the fire, none the less it felt great to get out and set lines, hear the riggers hum, and see a few rods bounce. Spring cannot come soon enough!!!!

    Location: Bear creek

    Fow: 8-18

    Temp: 41-49 degrees

    Speed 1.7 to 2.6

    went: 8 for 11

  8. i watched two guys last week jump start a boat with their truck at a sate launch last week. The scary part was watching the jumper cables sit in the water while they turned the boat over. Nothing happened luckily other then tying up the launch forever!!
