  1. Had to finish up a home project this am but salvaged a 1/2 day trip on the lake this afternoon. The word of the day was Cold! We headed out of bear creek and set up right out the gate, with a surface temp of 34 degrees and air temp at about 35 and east wind made for some brisk conditions while we searched the first couple hours. Found a few warm pockets at first but did not pull any fish on a westbound search. Spun around and it was east bound when came threw a pocket of 35 degree water in 11fow. That's where they wanted to be and we kept on them to pull 8 nice Browns. Leads off the boards were 150/175 back, 60 back on the rigger. Slow as we cld go with 2.0 mph speed working best.

  2. Mine did not have the oil pump hooked up so I've always done the gas oil mix with a 50:1 ratio. Fuel economy has been great with the outboard and it sounds like your tank should give you plenty of range. Good luck with the new engines and when you do get a splash down with them let me know how things work and if you have any questions.

    Tight lines 😄

  3. Ended up hitting the water with my faithful crew for some more brownie action before this weather locks us down.

Stiff south wind and a much cooler water temp slowed the bite however the big bucks were out on the prowl.

Fished the 25-40 fow range. The lines off the boards were 150 back, riggers were 70 back n 14 down. Ended the day with a good tally around 20 and all were released for another day.

    Arsenal used for the day.

  4. Listen gentlemen if u have a boat and or a friend with a boat take an opportunity and try and fish our shoreline. With a king caught at the niagara mouth and Browns scattered along the shore its a great time to get out. The normal spring programs are working just fine and with the right winds their are plenty of fish to catch.

Fished 1/7 with an insane bite that gave us a 40 + hookups. I kept two new guys busy and hopefully hooked them on our lake Ontario trolling. We Started the new year out with a double. That was awesome!

1/8 we had east winds and really cold water moving in fast so it slowed things down but we did manage to boat 19 with a bunch of missed.

  5. Happy New Year and good luck to everyone in our new season.

The white stick is a Storm/Thunderstick. The other is a Jr Thunderstick and I usually take the stock hooks off and replace up a size for the spring kings. The other color worth mention was the bay rat in "high school" color.

Chuck It would be my pleasure to get u and ur brother back out again, you two are trip with stories and we always have a good time on the water. Could not ask for better fishing partners.

    Tight lines

  6. Went out of bear creek today for what would be my last troll for this year. Had a great day on the big lake chasing the brownies. Started out in 25 fow with a 44 degree surface temp. Ran sticks off the boards 150 back and spoons off the riggers 60 back 15 down. The first two hrs were absolutely great as we could not get a full spread in, after that we picked away at them. Not one lure was an mvp as they were all working good today. The white thunderstick did take our best hoss fish at 12 lbs lots of cookie cutters mixed in the day but did get a few in t 6-8 lb range. Also my buddy brought some bay rats and I was very impressed with their performance. Will add a bunch soon to my arsenal. We ended the day with a tally of 26 for 29.

    Wind: Sw 0-1 footers

    Temp: 43-48 degrees

    Depth: 25- 40fow

    Speed: 2.5- 2.8

    Enjoy:)

  7. The weather gave me a small window to try the big lake again. East winds for the day but we were able to pull a few fish. 1 brown, laker and steel. All were released and we had three misses too. Fished the 45-55fow, in tight was still too clear and the surface temp was 52-55 degrees out. Riggers and small dipsy's were the producers today, boards were quiet.
