  1. Took my son out an his friend who never fished for salmon before. Started in 100 fow then did a north/south troll till rods started to pop. The 250-300 was my best range. Riggers parked at 70/80 fow, with spoons, dispys out 100/150 with flasher/ flys an coppers300/400 with meat combos, bites were spread out an not one set was super hot. More of a search mode day, but managed enough bites to keep the kids happy.

Did some fishing with the fellas an landed on some of the best Atlantic salmon I've ever boated.(14lbs an 10 lbs) They wanted a fast troll an was burning arnd 2.8 with spoons off my 200 n 300 coppers , riggers parked at 65- 75 , moonshine carbon 14 was the star in the100-140 fow range was best.

I was not planning on fishing but ended up getting the day off from work, so I set off with just me an my 11 yr old to try our hand at the Bald Eagle Derby. Ended up having a ton of fun as the Kings were snapping real good. Figured with such a good bite an watching other boat nets dip all day it was gonna be close derby. We ended up in 5th place with a box weight of 62 lbs. The best part was the first time I won a little $ an got to split it with my boy, he wore a smile a mile long when I handed him his share.

Def a spoon bite an if it glowed it goed. Same range as the day before.

Rolled out of Bald Eagle harbor an set down in the 140 fow an pinged from thier to 160 all morning for a nice steady pick,. Kept the riggers parked at 45 n 60. Deployed the 200 copper an 10 color as well. Spoon bite again for me. Caught some nice 18lbrs an bunch of spunky fish to finish with a 16for 22 bite day. Stud spoons were a mix of green to orange. Three kept for dinner an the rest released to fight another time.

  4. The best part about a great salmon bite is taking the family out to enjoy it. Headed out of Bald eagle an started in 60 fow. Let the kids pick out the spoons an help set rods then search for some hungry fish. Found the fish had moved out a bit deeper but once we landed in them was not disappointed with the bite on a flat lake. All spoons worked ( mix veg, crbn 14, grn dolphin, glow alwife) an got a FF bite to work, two face paddle with an atommik stud fly. Everyone got to reel in fish an they were all put back to enjoy another day.

    Tight lines to all.IMG_20190527_074553.jpegIMG_20190527_074826.jpegIMG_20190527_082830.jpegIMG_20190527_085930.jpegIMG_20190527_090916.jpegIMG_20190527_110820.jpegIMG_20190527_100620.jpegIMG_20190527_100733.jpegIMG_20190527_100729.jpeg

  5. Rolled out of Bald eagle for a quick trip before the storms came in an landed on some active fish. Fished the 50-80 fow, riggers parked anywhere from 40-60 down, an my 6 colors kept us busy for a nice two man limit for the smoker today. Stud color was mixed veggies, n geter done.

Good luck to all this holiday weekend and Thank you to all our service folks an family's.IMG_20190523_075818.jpegIMG_20190523_071309.jpegIMG_20190523_091805.jpegIMG_20190523_101323.jpegIMG_20190523_091705.jpegIMG_20190516_085005.jpegIMG_20190523_091747.jpegIMG_20190523_102636.jpegIMG_20190523_112820.jpeg

Rolled out  of Bald Eagle about 3pm in a thick fog an was finally able to sample some of lady O's insane king bite. Fished the 12- 20 fow. Kept a simple presentation out 2 riggers 2 dipsys, which kept me an the kids plenty busy, ran spoons only, 50 back/ 12 down on the riggers, dispsy out 25. Great time with the kids an look forward to what the season may bring.

Thight lines to all an enjoy. IMG_20190503_140715.jpegIMG_20190503_141659.jpegIMG_20190503_161538.jpegIMG_20190503_163930.jpegIMG_20190503_180519.jpegIMG_20190503_180435.jpegIMG_20190503_185722.jpeg

  7.

Rolled out of bear creek an was surprised with a nice mixed bag of fish, we had coho, Atlantic an browns. Stayed in the deeper water 14-24fow despite the colder temps 37- 38.7 where a nice mud line was an the fish wanted to be. Bright colors were the tickets with the sun yesterday, sticks- coho crusher, highschool, bt candy, low rider, my secret, Dreamweaver, get ur done and stinger sir walleye in spoons. Only kept three small browns rest swim to fight another day.

Good luck to all this season.
