  1. When there is more on top (water/slush) than under u , u don't go out . Glad u are safe and u fished with a buddy !!!

I fell thru I Bay 10in of ice 8in of slush water on top. About 10 years ago.

The west side across from the boat launch and to the south a bit is the deepest hole in the lake . It is always the last spot to freeze on the lake . Springs ,and run off creeks all over that lake.

Im glad I made it as well. There was water on top from the melting that I believe the wind moved it around and made the skinny ice.

  2. Went to canadice lake and struggled to find lakers. Left from the east side boat launch and fished our way to west side and south with a solid 4" of ice with slush. Next thing i know is splash, WTF spun around and pulled myself out and then looked back to see if my sled was going to pull me down. Luckily it was floating so i yanked it out and boogied to the bus 800 yds. My buddy anthony was 80yds away and coming to help. I think he was more shocked then me. It worked out all good. Hopefully to never happen again. Just wanted to give a heads up.

  3. I already unplugged the opener and slid the inside latch so the door can’t be opened. But I like the lock idea better than the inside latch. I did some reading and read that I could have a damaged circuit. We had a big wind storm the other day that knocked out power a couple different times. I think I will call someone to come inspect it just for my own sanity.

  4. So i take the dogs for a walk this morning to sober up from last night.[New Years] LOL We go down irondequoit creek walk the banks and look for fish. There right in front of me was 2 fresh green back king salmon on a nest. I have never in all of my years of tromping through there at this time of year seen anything like this. There was even a fresh looking dead one that came washing down the creek. I had a customer send me a photo just last week of a king he caught in webster park. After this past season with the best fishing i have seen in 42 years, it continues to still amaze me. Think about it, we had fish in the streams/rivers since september and here it is January. Just awesome. Let's hope 2019 continues like last year. Happy New Year

  6. Fishing yesterday and we boated a 7lb bt and my client says there is a tag on this fish, of course after i took care of it to get the hook out. I scratch the slime off and it says; Let me live with a phone # from Windsor C.A. sorry to late. Actually felt bad, because we had a awesome bite going on. I call the # and a sarah answers and we talk about what just went on with this fish. Come to find out this brown was tagged off the Niagara Bar in april and it was in rochester. I sent the transmitter back to get the details. Here i thought the browns were not roamers,,,,,,,
