Thanks for the responces guys. It mostly happens when I'm trolling in the manual mode at higher gains. I'll try securing the plug and see how it works out.

I have a Raymarine DS500X color fish finder and lately when I turn up the gain to rspectable levels, a message displays and says transducer is disconnected and it forces me to restart it and lower the gain to about 65%. I can't really see the balls, with that low of gain. Any suggestions? How about you Yankee Troller or Longline. You guys run this unit don't you?

Rich, the 20lb'der that I got out of Sandy last week was in 59 degree water. Go figure.

Gee Rob, I was thinking that I'm not fishing enough. I'm back in Albany for 2 weeks so it's weekends only for me.

They get over it. My wife used to say "what do you mean your going fishing again, you care more about fishing than me." Now it's like "how come your not fishing today it's nice out." After 23 yrs of marriage, she finally gets it!! Go figure.

The fleas have not shown up yet. I think as the water warms they'll start to show up.

Started out in 55fow and pretty much stayed in 65-75 fow all morning. Smithwicks in Firetiger off the boards 125 ft back took steelhead and riggers 25-70 down with Stinger and Stingray NBK'S, Stinger Orange crush, NK Purple Thunder took Kings and Steelhead. One King just under 20lbs. 40-70ft leads off the ball. Went out for an afternoon run and did 1 small king. Today worked the same 65-75 fow, same spoons 3 atlantics, 1 about 8lbs, 2 steelhead 5-6lbs.

Thanks Rob. The steelie fishing off Sandy last year was pretty good. They were everywhere. I'll post a report when I get back today. I'm fishing this morning and this afternoon. I have a wedding Saturday, so I'm getting in as much fishing as I can this week.

Started out looking in 25fow inside and outside of a scum line that ran from west of the pump house to east of watoma. 3 steelies 7-8 lbs and 1 lost monster at the back of the boat, easy 15 lber. Move out to 70fow and did a teenage king down 44ft. That was our only rigger fish. The rest came on sticks off the boards, smithwicks and bomber long A's. Beautiful day out there. Back at it Wednesday am.

75 to 120 fow 50 to 80 down, 1 king, 6 lakers. Not a bad day.

I'll be out on Wednesday from Sandy, maybe Olcott Thursday and Friday for the big fish/ three fish 1 day tourney. I'll post after Wednesday's trip. Good luck with the floor.

We didn't start picking up fish until we were about 1/2 mile west of the lighthouse. We started about 1 mile west of Watoma. It was pretty empty. We only saw 2 other boats all morning.

75-125 fow, riggers 25, 35, divers 120-140, 8 colors of core, dark color spoons, 12-14 with 5 lakers, 4 rainbows/ steelhead, 3 small kings. Beautiful day.

Went out with Coyote Ugly on a shakedown on Sunday, Nothing But Net on board as well. We didn't move a rod all morning, fish on the sonar, people hooked up, radio reports good, nada, nada, nada. Monday was a different story, 11 for 14, 8 kings up to 20lbs and 3 Cohos, 90-160fow with purple and black spoons doing the damage. Jax, it was nice to meet you on Monday. It's always good to meet someone from LOU and put the name to a face. Hopefully out this weekend.

Good report Jax. So the Kings that 've been hanging around the river the last 2 weeks are gone. That sucks. I would think that we'll see another bunch come through on their way east.

I have fished with Maxima for nine of the 10 years that I've fished the lake. I don't know what it was with the big game. I bought 1 bulk spool last year and didn't have good luck with it. You could be right Tim, it might have been a bad batch.

I also run Maxima 25#, yes it is expensive.I have only bought bulk spools from Cabelas. I ran big game 25 last year and although I didn't have any flea problems, the amount of break offs was to much to bear. This year back to Maxima.
