SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
====================
8-25 Started right in 70 fow and a little west of the creek. Took fish all the way to Cowsucker. We wound up with 3 matures, 2 teenagers, 3 browns, and 2 lakers. Biggest king was 23lbs and change. All in all a decent days fishing.
8-26 Left port and headed west to the pump house to 70 fow and turned East, hoping to repeat Saturdays fishing. Right off the bat 60' rigger goes and fish on only to be dropped after a short battle. That would be are only hit of the day. We wound up working from 35fow out to 470 fow. There were alot of marks and bait in 460 but no takers. Threw everything at them spoons, flies, and meat. No go.

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
==================== Got out of work early and decided to get out for a couple hours. Ran right to 170 and set up. My brother-in-law dropped the first 2 which were VERY acrobatic Steelies of good size. We then landed the next 3 fish, 2 steelies and a small king. Then it was like an invasion of flies with thousands of them on the boat munching on us. After 30minutes of that we pulled lines and headed in. Those D--- FLIES pretty much ruined a nice afternoon of fishing. No fishing for me the next 2 weeks as I will be on vacation. good luck out there.

SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS
==================== The day didn't start out too well as a friend from work and his visiting brother-in-law blew me off at the dock and didn't show up. Fished solo and the peace and quiet was awsome after living in turmoil the last 2 weeks helping my son move. Anyway started out in 40-50fow looking for Browns. Managed 2 small Kings on the 50' rigger and a 14lb brown on a six color core off the boards. Headed to deeper water and at 200ft, hit a nice steelie on a rigger 44ft down. That rigger fired 4 more times with an NBK Stingray landing 3 of 4. Glow Gator accounted for 3 kings, the largest was 10 lbs. All told 4 Kings, 4 Steelhead, and the 1 Brown. Beautiful day out there.

Great job Lou.

A 5 yr old and a 2 1/2 year old does not make for good fishing. Now I have to work on Saturday, sooooooooooo no fish 4 me. Good luck out there.
-
Great job Lou. Are you fishing Saturday? I have babysitting duty this weekend, but I might get out on Saturday.
-
Thanks Jerry, this supposedly came from a reliable source. I have not been able to confirm it, nor have I heard who caught it. It would be an interesting catch though if true.
-
Anyone hear about this, it supposedly weighed 40lbs.

It was good seeing you Tom. Good job on the fish. We had a 10 fish afternoon with 3 Kings 2 Steelies and 5 lakers. Just a BEAUTIFUL day out there. Sunday we wound up with only 3 fish, 2 Steelies and 1 king that is currently in 5th place. That got my son over his sea sickness.

The morning started pretty slow. Decent water color east of the creek, so thats where we started to hook up. Not a banner day , but respectable. We landed 6 browns and 1 beautiful rainbow about 10lbs. Mostly rigger hits on a Stinger Goby spoon which took 5 fish and the others came on a Thunder stick jr. white with orange tiger stripes. Off the water by 11am. Nice day out there. Good luck to all in the derby.
-

Started setting up right out of the creek going west. Took 2 browns right away. Then nothing past Newmans. Turned around and headed back east. Every time we passed the creek it was fish on. We landed 10 fish, 3 kings 15, 12, and 10 lbs. The 7 browns were quality up to 10lbs. We worked 7-15 fow mostly, but 1 of the kings came at 7 down over 23ft. Sticks off the boards and spoons off the riggers. Good day to be out.

Same here Lou. Next weekend can't get here soon enough.

Excellant condition sacrifice for 100.00.

We were out of Sandy this morning as well. Came out of the creek and headed west. Beautiful water near Yanty and we picked a few there. Few more at the park and around the nose. Then a nice 15# king slams a smithwick fire tiger and game on. Didn't quite have the day Matt had but 2 of the 6 browns were 10+ lbs. Bring on next week.

Happy B-day Brian.

I'm with Rob and Brian on this one. Been running it that way for 4 years without issue.

We pretty much did the same as you guys, only we went 0-4. It was tough for us this weekend. Saturday we managed 1 lake trout. We decided that Sunday we would "traitor" and go to the Oak. (Thanks Lou for the traitor tag) We did fairly well working that 70-75fow along with a hundred other boats. We landed 8 of 11 fish, 1-4 on big Kings, with Browns and Steelhead in the mix. Although the fishing was decent "some" of the boats need a lesson in courtesy. First 2 fish on were big Kings and 1 very rude fisherman decided that he was going to come right up my a** and trail me for 1/4 mile. This clown was 20yds behind me and I guess you know I had some vey choice words for him and I could see him smile at me and wave. Lessons learned, Stay at your own port where the fisherman are kind, courteous and willing to give you some room when needed. Yea Sandy!! Congrats to all who put fish on the board for the Derby. Now I know why I've stayed away from the Oak all these years.
