  1. I have a 15# chrome Shark and wonder what is the best distance behind the Shark? I've been seeing a lot of lookers with no takers on the graph lately...

Their website says 3-4 should do it, but I wonder what your experiences are?

Also, their site says dont run a flasher behind the shark (attractor behind attractor...) What have your experiences been with that? If good, how far back?

    Thanks guys,

  2. I have a 15# chrome shark and like the improvement in blowback on my probe rigger, but don't see much improvement in fish hits vs. the 12# cannon ball.

I was looking at their website and they suggest spoons 3-4 ft behind the shark, and to not use a flasher behind the shark.

What distance behind the shark works best for you guys? Flashers/dodgers?

    thanks!

  3. I ran two rigger this morning, one with 20# flea flicker and one with 30# Berkley/Trilene mono.

The Flea Flicker was clean but the 30# mono was totally clogged. I thought that 30# was supposed to be big enough for them not to attach??!!

Anyhoo, I'm going to get some more Flea Flicker - pronto.

  4. I ran out of Braddocks this morning and saw the same thing... more big hooks on the graph from 220 to 280 down than I've ever seen. The temp was 43 down 140 but all the fish were below 220. The were big hooks on the screen constantly from 280 out to 420 FOW.

I tried to run a 1 lb ball back on the wire 550 to 600 but no takers... anybody know how deep I was????

These conditions are TOUGH. Also FLEAS -- tons and tons. Don't even think about running a free slider.

We went 1 for 2 all morning -- landed a decent steelie that hit a 42 second Silver Streak on the 8 color leadcore.

Had a beauty of a mark down 125 in about 230 FOW that hit a magnum NK purple thunder out 365 on the wire. Lost it before I could grab the rod.

Came in around 12:30 when the skies over Braddocks turned black.

    Good luck to all...

  5. Put a 13.04 Laker on the board today.

My 12 year old son set the rigger and reeled in the fish. (He is very quick on the release... beats me almost every time!) I cleared rods and manned the net.

It hit a magnum Moonshine Carbon-14 parked down 60 over 90 feet of water, just west of Braddocks.

Probably won't hold up long on the Adult board, but maybe on the Youth...

  7. Carl,

I know you catch a lot of Kings, so I'm a little confused...

I thought the ideal temp range for Kings is 42-44 deg, so it would seem to me that starting deepest at 50 deg and going up from there would put you mostly in Brown and Steelie territory.

Did you mean set the fish hawk rigger at 40?

    thanks,

    JAM
