  1. On the water at 5:15 AM, went to 80 FOW to set up. Had great temp and marks- but the wind and current was terrible. Hit a 9-10 lb king down 72 on a purple NBK, then another king- same size down 66- same spoon- both in about 100 FOW.

Missed 3 others on flasher/fly and a getter done- Yeck zipper. Turned north after the sun was up- landed a nice 8 lb steelie 55 down over 180 fow on the zipper.

Ended up 3 for 6, back home by 8:15 AM.

I thought the lake was setting back up but the water temp had changed by almost 10 degrees in the time we were out- due to the strong south wind. Looks like the fish will stay deep form a while longer

  2. Jeff-

I could write some sort of a joke about you not having to worry about what kind of hooks are on your spoons- since the only time you catch fish is when you are on my boat. Like always- 2 in the pink, 1 in the _____

  3. I run all cannon mag 10s on my boat. My back riggers at about 2 foot boom, side riggers at about 3 foot boom. I too had MANY problems with my cables crossing, especially in the wicked currents off Braddocks Point.

After a few trips, I finally figured out that my back riggers must run deeper then the sides. My rigger with the probe- always being the deepest. Becuase of the blowback from the depth and the probe, my other back rigger is between 7-10 feet above it. When I catch a fish on one of the deep riggers, I clear and re-set the adjacent side rigger. I have not had my cables cross or any other problem since- including lure tangles. I can run my side riggers within 5-10 feet in depth to my back riggers without an issue to get all the lures in the strike zone

Some guys will argue that it might be "overkill" but it literally takes less then 1 minute and you would be surprised how many times you will pull a rod to find some seaweed or garbage on the hook. I would rather take the extra minute to re-set that troll for an hour with a chunk of garbage on my hook.
