Try this fishing lure.
How would like to loose a few of these?
-
I was going to try a flasher in front of one just to see what happens. Like Rod said, when it slows down just try something. You never know what will happen.
-
I am going to try the umbrella rigs this year. I also want to try this setup with a spoon.

Rod,
If you think you might want to go, book it. It's like $75.00 per week to hold it and you can cancel it something like 30 days before. I always book two weeks and a few days. When the time comes I decide what I want to day and just change it around. They dont care the place always sell out.

Rod,
Where are you going in 2009?
I will be in OC 7/4 - 7/19 site Z8

I wish I found this back in November, I would have had something to do all winter.

We have to find someone who works weekends to keep an eye on it and PM use if something happens.

Welcome, nice bunch here.

Ok guys I need some help again. Spent the winter surfing this site and also asked some questions on the topic. I just got the Accudepth Plus 47 LC and Malin-7 30# wire. Do I need backing or will it fill the spool?
Thanks for the help.

A dog is truly a man's best friend.
If you don't believe it, just try this experiment.
Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for an hour.
When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you!?
Sorry guys it's just been a long winter.
-
Ray,
Can you get all that done in one day? Drink beer, eat and fix reels!
-
Thanks Ray
I will give you a call.
A little info from my wife, you guys may need to know. I told her about Rod catching Lobster and she would like to do that, but she told me “you know that the claws won’t have bands on themâ€

I called Lowrance when I was looking for a new unit and also was on hold for a long time. Called Humminbird and was off the phone in less than 5. I figured that if they would not talk to me when I was buying, what about a problem. That made up my mind, bought a Humminbird.

Ray,
I am renting a boat at Captain Pip's. I have to see how far by water to the campground on big pine is. If it's not to far I am going to keep the boat at the campground. I don't want to have the boat at the campground and get bad weather the last day I am there and can't get the boat back to Pip's. I don't know any thing about the keys as far as channels and all the kind of stuff.

Thanks for the info Rod. Made reservations at Big Pine Key, just past the 7 mile bridge, where Ray is talking about. This will be my first time there, so I definitely want to get into a tarpon. Let me know about catching the lobster, we would like to try that. Thanks for the report. Have a safe trip back!

Boat name origins

This is my fifth boat and the first one with a name. My favorite artists are Bob Seger and Jimmy Buffet. I have thought of a lot of names from songs to name my boat. The one that best fits my life over all is Against The Wind. I feel I have been running against the wind since I was 11 years old when my father passed away. I moved out of the house the day I finished high school and headed into the wind for a long time after that. As I thought about the name, I started thinking about better times, my wife and then my kids. Long story short we started RVing and to keep the kids wanting to go with us as they grew older, we let them bring friends. We were away just about every weekend with different kids. I felt old with all of the kids calling my wife and I Mr. and Mrs., so one day I told them to call my wife, Miss Lisa, and me, Mr. Rick. Over time, they started calling her Miss L. That is now what we are called by just about every kid that comes to our home. My life turned around when I met my wife and for that I am grateful.
So, I named the boat Miss L even though I am still running against the wind, it’s just not as windy!
