  1. That was the one thing I am happy we did. Our unit has 4 bunks in the back. When we go to Ocean City Md. they both bring a friend. This way they like to go. Now the he can drive the boat by himself he wants to go. I will tell you my unit is a 2004 and I have about 12000 - 15000 miles and we all had a great time seeing a lot of different things together.

You should have a lot of fun!

Enjoy it Rod it goes fast.

  2. Rod,

It looks real nice, good luck with it.

We try to use ours as much as we can. I have a partner so it is not to hard to get time off. Most of the time I have to take when the kids are out of school. We go to Ocean City, Md every year for the past 13 years. Last year was the first year I brought it up to lake O. I am bringing it up sometime this August and leave it and the boat till sometime in October. Last year I went up every weekend, we will see how many times I get up this year. Long 4 1/2 drive Friday after work and up by 4am to fish. It wasn't bad if the kids are off school on a Friday or Monday. Would like to get out west, but my son is 16 and lost his mind. He like girls and going to work instead of fishing and RVing. I think he will get over that in a few years. Two years ago we took a trip to Dallas via Georgia,Alabama,Arkansas,Mississippi,Louisiana,Missouri,Tennessee, Illinois and a few others just to put the little stickers on the side of the RV. I think it worked out to 13 states, 3000 miles in ten days. I think the one thing everyone remembers it Alligator road kill. Don't see much of that in Jersey.

Anyway it's real cool you should enjoy it.

    Good luck with yours.

  3. Rod,

I would like to stay at Knight's key campground. They have a dock for the boat at your site. But the place was sold three years ago and they dont know when the place will be shutt down. The new owner is going to put up condos. Looks like they might stay open because of real estate sales are poor now.

I will let you know about campgrounds when I get back.

Thanks for the info on the boat, I will give them a call.

    Thanks

    Rick

  4. I learned how to catch Salmon on lake O.

I found this site just before my first trip to the lake and used all of the info from this board and advise from the members to put fish in my boat. It is a great place for help unlike the tackle shops who just want to sell you stuff. Now when I go into a shop at the lake I know what I need to buy, not just what is not selling.

    Thanks again for everyones help!

Hope I will be able to help someone someday.

  5. A Wish for You in 2008

May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal

your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for

$100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may

laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success

like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face

and may your tears be that of joy. May the problems you had

forget your home address! In simple words ............

May 2008 be the best year of your life and put fish in the box !!!

  6. Does the fishing help the economy. I think so! Just this past season I drove up to the lake 6-7 times this fall. I spent $100.00 for fuel each way, me, my son and my wife had to buy a fishing licenses, lures at three or four tackle shops, fishing cleaning, RV parking for two months, food at a lot of places because after getting in at 10 pm who wants to cook and many other things. The drive tanks me almost 5 Hr's after work on a Friday night. Getting in around midnight and up be four Am.

My point is that I live about a one hour drive from some of the best saltwater fishing. I drive up the the big O for one reason. Big Fish!

One weekend We did not catch any fish, but I went back. If I did not catch as many fish as I did or got 1 or 2 fish I don't think I would go up so many times and if that was the case year after year I would stop going up.

We need to have the fish.

Fore me the fishermen and for all of the people who live near the lake and make a living.

    Just my 2 cents

  7. I have been looking around the site for awhile and need some help. I am running out of time. I only have 8 months before I head back up to the big O for some Salmon and I don't know what to buy. I want to pull Dipsey’s with wire next year. I fish the lake 4-6 weeks in the fall. I would like to get two rods and reels, but don't know what to get. I would like to buy something good but I don't think I want to buy the best with only using them for a short tome each year. I would also like to try them in salt water for striper's. If anyone has any ideas on rods and reels please let me know.

    Thanks for the help.

    Rick
