  1. Nice boat! I bet you can't wait til spring.
  2. Thanks Gambler I should have mentioned that I'm fishing out of Mexico Bay this week. Thanks for the reply.
  3. With the good weather for tomorrow I was thinking of trying for some Steelhead. How far out and what type of lures does one need to use. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Tight Lines Fishgill
  4. I just got in and the oil man paid me a visit today droppin 107 gallons at $2.50/gal. merry xmas opec. Now for gasoline $1.79 in central MA. amazing!! When we put the to sleep four weeks ago it was $2.73 at the house and $3.73 at the marine. When hauling the boat to the house I thought we did good when we filled up at $2.73. Saving $1.00 dollar/gallon. Taking 193 gallons. If we would've waited three weeks we could've save almost $200.00. Hopefully the prices don't go out of controll again next summer.
  5. I think they should go by limits. It shouldn't matter how many rods or lines you use to achieve it. It would be nice to be able to run four rods when fishing alone.
  6. http://www.postimage.org/Pq1_HGq9.jpg' alt='Pq1_HGq9.jpg'> These are my three best catches this season. 278 lbs Tuna, 29 lbs. Striper and a 27 lbs. King. I can't wait for next year.
  7. I don't know what calculator you used but mine came up with a different figure. I came up with $435.00 each. The 700 billion dollar bailout would give us each $3500.00.
  8. I spent last week fishing the lake and I'm in my post trip funk . I'm thinking of getting a crew together to make another 3-4 day trip. What is the end of September fishing like? And is the beginning of Oct. to late. Thanks.
  9. Couldn't fish Monday due to the wind :x. But today was nice. We went 3 for 5 on Kings. Caught 2 on the dipseys on a trash can dodger and a little boy blue fly. And the 3rd was on a NBK spoon. All were in 80 to 100'. Looking foward to the next two days. It should only get better.
  10. I will be fishing all of next week out of the Little Salmon . I hear the fishing hasn't been the greatest with the warm water and all , but with the forcast for the next 3 or 4 days with the wind from the south and south west. Will that help the fishing :?: Will that bring in some cooler H2O :?:
  11. Thanks for the help guys. I will be changing the tips out to twilleys.
  12. I've just purchased 2 Diawa Heartland Dipsey rods that I will be using wire on. How long will the factory tip last ? And should I just change the tip rite away. Thanks.
  13. Did you check the fennaugulater. I would start there. Just my 2 cents.
  14. Thanks a bunch. This is good news to me. I will try bending the fins to get them to swim away from the boat I already have extra cannonballs. One thing I see I was doing wrong. I was attaching my release to the fin on the pancake weight. I would imagine the cannonball weight will be fine with a probe.
  15. I could use some help. I am currently using 13 lbs. pancakes. My boat has an 8' beam. I have 4 mag 10s. When on the big lake. I can never use all 4 I usually will only run 3 of them. My problem is my cables gettin crossed up. Which style should I try to prevet this and with the right ones will I be able to run all 4 downriggers. Before I buy a speed/temp unit I would like to solve this problem. On another front in responce to my intro. posting here is the sight for a reasonable saltwater charter I mate for if anyone is interested.( mysite.verizon.net/fishhuntermike ) if anyone has any questions you call pm me. Thanks
  16. Hey Ray. It's funny you brought up the Saltwater fishing. I just got back from getting the finishing touches done on the Fishunter. It looks like it's going in next weekend. Here's a way to check Captain Mike out,no .com site yet (mysite.verizon.net/fishuntermike) His open charters for $150 is the best deal if just 1or2 people want to go out. About going west in the spring.I've thought of giving that a try sometime I do love catching those salmon.
  17. These are simulators. I've used them in a Mackeral pattern and have cought School Blue Fin Tuna and Striped Bass off the coast of MA. If you could get one made matching the bait of choice they may work for Salmon.
  18. What a great site!! I feel like I'm on information overload. I'm from Central Massachusetts My boat is a 19'Lowes Great Lakes Special with Mag 10 elec. downriggers A Raymarine A65 combo unit (no probe yet), I've been fishing Lake O one or two weeks a year for the last 9 years. I fish out of Mexico Bay ( the Little Salmon) usually the 2nd week of the derby. My home lake is the Quabbin Res. in MA. I also am the 1st mate on the Fishunter which is a 28' Grady White Marlin that fishes out of Danvers MA. For Stripers, Cod, Haddock, Shark and School Blue Fin Tuna as well as Giant Blue Fin. I am getting my list of questions ready and you all will be hearing from me again Thanks.
