  10. Generally I find them in a little shallower water, but they're usually pretty spread throughout the water column. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Went for a short evening trip out of OZ. Went 4 for 5. 2 kings and 2 steelies & dropped another king right at the back of the boat. All salmon bites came on flies. There's fish out there, but they're scattered, both vertically and horizontally. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I keep my boat at wrights. They built a special dock so people can continue to launch there Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Fished the open water out of Oswego 60-180 fow. Found fish in pretty much every depth, and completely spread throughout the water column. Finished the day 10 for 12, with 4 Kings, 4 Steelies and 2 Browns. Released the Steelies and a 10lb brown. Overall, a great day on the DirtyWorm Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. This last week I've started getting some adult kings out of oswego. It's still pretty slow for the most part, but I've taken two over 20lbs and a few in the teens. They're scattered. I've got them as shallow as 120, and as deep as 320. Flasher/flies have been starting to out produce spoons as of lately. There seems to be bait in all depths, and as the thermocline starts setting up more fish will follow.
  15. I'm looking for some help or advice here. The last time I went out, I marked several, large, fish coming up from the bottom, in 350 fow, streaking past my baits, and going back down. I must have marked 30+ fish doing this. I was running baits from 85' to 30' . I tried different depths, even ran one rigger at 180 for a while. Tried spoons, flies, different colors and leader lengths, changed boat speed. Nothing seemed to trigger these fish to bite. They must have been somewhat aggressive to come from 350' to 35', but I didn't have a single release. Any advice on how to get these streaking fish to bite would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Took a 14lb steelie this morning, my biggest so far.
  17. I went 2/3 today will all of my hits coming 160' on the rigger. I had 60 degrees down 150 on the rigger.
  18. Very tough fishing in Oswego. Fished 100fow to 325 and marked very little. the marks we did see were only 40' down or higher. ended the day going 3/6. Landed a 6lb laker, 8lb King and a 21lb King. the big king came 90' down in 135fow, wasn't marking anything when he hit. hopefully we'll get some north winds soon to push the themperatures deeper.
  19. Went out Monday evening out of Oswego. Set up in 140 fow, got the riggers in the water, and just as I was setting the first dipsy, the 60' rigger fired. Skippy hit a green dolphin Stingray. Finished getting all the lines in the water, then the 60' rigger fired again...another skippy. Slid out to 170 fow, and the 210' dipsy started pulling. Ended up being about a 8lb king. Trolled around for a while without marking anything, and started heading north. When I hit 225fow, the 90' rigger fired. 21lb King, hit a black and silver spoon. went all the way out to 300fow without seeing anything, so we started heading back in. Got in to about 150fow, and the 210 dipsy fired again, this time a 22lb king. We were only out for 4 hours, didn't mark either of the majors we took. very little bait and even less hooks, but apparently there's fish out there.
  20. Here is my problem. I don't eat Salmon, but I like to catch them. Once the lake warms up, it is very difficult to revive a king and let it go. I hate seeing a lifeless fish slowly sink to the bottom. I'm just wondering if there is anyone out of Oswego that would want some extra fish?
  21. I traded in my 17' Deep V for a 27' Walk around. After a couple of shakedowns, picking away at lake trout, I decided to try for some Oswego kings. Not a lot out there, mostly a blank screen, but I did manage 1 on a Atommik ultra green glow fly.
  22. Nope, new line this spring, just a big fish. I tried tighting the drag because of the way he was running, I should have left it alone, he would have tired out.
  23. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: The Dirty Worm ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/20/12 Time on Water:3hrs Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: <10mph from W Waves: <1 Surface Temp: Location: OSWEGO LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 5 Total Boated:3 Species Breakdown:King/Steelie/Brown Hot Lure: Flies Trolling Speed:2.4-2.6 Down Speed: 2.2-2.6 Boat Depth: 140-225 Lure Depth: 40-80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== By the time I was setting the 3rd rod, the first rod fired. 72' rigger green on green. Fish ran out 300+ feet of line, and then broke off. Just finished setting up my standard 5 rod spread, 2 riggers, 2 dipsy, and a copper down the middle, when a dipsy fired. Mt. Dew e-chip, Hammer fly 155' 2.5 setting. Fish tried running the boat, was straight out to the side, then ran right at me, and got off. By now I was starting to get frustrated, being 0/2, but at least I was hitting fish. Over the next 2 hrs, I only picked up a small brown and a steelie, Then just before we pulled lines, the 72' rigger fired again, green on green. 26lb King, not a bad fish to finish the day. Only wish I had more time to stay out there.
