  1. I have 2 manual cannon uni-troll 6 with heavy 4 foot booms .Also have two manual older big jons . Does anyone know what I might get out of them. cash or trade Thanks Mike
  2. I had that prob a few years ago turned out to be a cracked wire on my quick discinnect to the battery . Also freind of mine had that problem and he had a bent connector to the battery so it wasnt getting a good conection . Good luck Mike
  3. 2/4 in front of micro tower all between 180 and 200 riggers down 60 to 80 with green pro troll and green flys. 2 boated where 17 and 19lb . lost one nice one that took a purple thunder off a stacker down 65 ripped out about 200 yards before line snapped at the reel  cant fig out why . between 6:00 and 7:30 am then done. Mike
  4. Thanks Tim do you run them off the twinkie rigs like the cut bait or is there a diff set-up for them?
  5. what is familiar bite ? is it like a cut bait rig
  6. Has anyone used these 10.5 foot heartland rods before? are they a good chose for 30 bucks . Also should I replace the tip with a twillie right away or not worry about it until the orig wheres out . Thanks Mike
  7. Thanks for all the info . looks like I have somewhere to start. Thinking I will load a 47lc with 1000' of wire put it on a 10.5 rod add a dipsy then about 8' of leader and a flasher fly. I see alot of yes and no for a subber . Is it safer to start with one and see what happins . Cash flows a little tight right now so i'd rather loose a fish or 2 then 30 bucks worth of stuff. thanks Mike
  8. Tim, Yes I am planning on coming to the seminar tonight . Thought I could learn some stuff there. Bob was right though I was mixing things together .I thought wire and copper were both dipsy set-ups . So copper is more like running lead core?
  9. Ok i'm a rookie at the dipsy thing and was hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction. I've been reading alot on here trying to figure out what is best for a rookie that has never run divers before. Whats better for a beginner wire or copper? Can I use one of my 8.5' rods or get something longer . Gander has a 10.5' Diawa heartland for 30 bucks are they any good? they also have wire and copper including a copper set up that has 30' leader 300' copper and 600' of powerpro backing all ready to go. I have a diawa 47lc I will use for my reel. also why the leader with copper why not just snap the copper to the dipsy and run your leader from there. Yes I have lots of rookie ? but would just like to have a better shot at more fish. Thanks for all the posts they really help out the little guys Tight lines Mike
  10. I have the 30lb berkley with the lip grip and seems to be really good Mike
  11. Just want to say hi .I have been checking out your site for a few days now .Wow lots of great info and tips .My story, I have a 16 ft 88 starcraft that my dad bought new and handed down two years ago . Have been fishing lake O for a long time with him. Had a couple old big jons and a box of spoons. We always picked up a few when things went right just fun. Been upgrading as money alows added to mag 10 electrics and the Cannon speed and temp unit, witch by BTW works great .Picked up some spin docs and flies witch boated alot of my fish last year . Dont have alot of room on the boat but gonna try to add a wire diver to the spead seems to take alot of fish . Fish out of olcott most of the time on the weekends, but hurt myself at work a few weeks ago and am off til we see what the docs can do. So I will be out a little when I can afford the gas. Good luck all and thanks for sharing Mike
