  1. I owned a Sailfish 218 WA walk around cuddy. It had great freeboard and took the roughest Lake Ontario waves with stride . It had a 150 Yamaha and was rated for a 250 . If you look for one I would get the 200 to 250 on it although the 150 for two people was fine and economical. I had a port a potty plumbed into the cabin. Peter

  4. I use windfinder. http://www.windfinder.com/weatherforecast/grimsby_ontario and http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=45139 for reports about 10 miles South of Bronte and in 120 feet of water. It is usually reliable. Peter
  5. I have used Penn, Shimano Charter, Okuma and have now switched over to AVET JX and LX models. They are made in California out of aluminum and have the best drag I have ever used. They are pricey compared to the others and they do not have a level wind. I used them this summer for the first full season and loved them. They both are the same size reel except the LX is wider. JX holds about 300 yds of 30 lb mono and Lx holds just under 400 yds.
  6. I bought my Cannon Digi Trolls in 1984 and they have been fabulous. I had them upgraded to Digi 4's in 2001 and have had no trouble with them other than replacing the pulleys and then the keypads this year( $120 each) I always run 12 lb balls and cannon digigs are rated for up to 20 lb so the handle 12 with ease. I have used pretty well all makes and even the lower models of cannon are far inferior. Although the Cannon Digi's are pricy they are worth the investment, if you can afford it, in my opinion. Scotty pro second choice but a lot less expensive.
