  2. Just went on the live web cam at sandy creek doesn't look that bad out there
  3. Im gonna try launching at the genny just hope its not too choppy
  4. If you have the luxury of trailering your boat you can go to where the fishing is most productive so therefore ive been launching at sandy based on reports and we have done very well as of late, today was a nice bite on kings and steelys with a one and only laker 16# but I bet Rochester and ibay will get its fair due
  5. Not a bad at Sandy, king bite 75 down spoons on riggers but thanks to the fisher gentleman who hooked me up with 2 cycle oil because I would have been screwed. Thank you I should have got your name I owe you
  6. Ok good news Sandy has no launch fee, good news mostly fisherman, good news short channel to get to open water, good news find deeper water in a short span time, good for your pocketbook, good news when the fish are around sandy can produce. I always trolled east of sandy but im open to a west troll now, The launch procedure isn't that bad, you just have to drive your vehicle back to the launch parking facility and walk back to the boat launch , Plus its a smaller facility that doesn't attract some of the aholes from roch cha cha
  7. Ok, good news no cost to launch, good news, find deeper water in a shorter span of time, good news short channel to open water, good news when the fishing gets hot you can go east or west and find fish. the one thing with sandy is you launch your boat you have to drive your trailer back to the parking lot which is about 2 football fields but its mostly fishing boats unlike Rochester that's mostly aholes in the afternoon hope that helps
  8. Like I said we got an early start and it wasn't long before we hooked up. took the feedback from you guys and was rewarded with about 12 hits and 7 landed, steelhead 2 coho and kings the best @20#, 120 to 150 was our target but we talked to a couple of guys on our way out that launched when we did and they lit up the steelhead, claiming about 20 hits in 200 feet of water, so sandy right now is pretty hot. Glad we got an early start cause the bite quit by 10am, Spoons on riggers was the ticket with 2 hits on dipsey spinny fly combo, More boats than I thought but that's right theres a derby going on.Again thanks for those that responded , it definitely put us on the fish
  9. Getting an early start not sure where to set up, east or west of the creek and depth to start off with Not to sure what the wind has done with the water. any advice would be appreciated
  10. Fished with my usual partner Bill and his co worker Kurt, whose daughter is my sons girlfriend. His first time out since he was a kid on a charter, also his birthday. Set up straight out of the genny and trolled north to about 220 and then east to Braddocks and beyond. An all spoon bite on the riggers was what worked despite running copper leadcore and wire. Dolphins and watermelon was the choice, the usual glowfrog and a plethora of others not so good.Still not marking many fish which puzzles me. ended up with about 8 fish boated, small kings steelies and couple of lakers, we had a good king on for a while before he came undone, that was Kurt the rookie on that one, and also lost a king of about 8 #s at the back of the boat cause Bill didn't think we needed the net, lost his lure too, thattl teach him, all in all not a bad day, we encountered some biting flies also nasty little critters
  11. Got an early start, fished with partners Bill and Bob,set up straight out of sandy in 80 feet and found the hot spot to be about 220 feet. When all was said and done we boated 3 respectable kings, 2 lakers 1 steely and 2 dinks. lost an atlantic at the back of the boat, Ididnt see it but Bill said it was a good size fish. The large king scaled out at 21#. All rigger bite besides the atlantic that hit a surface firecracker spoon. Steelie hit a cheater watermelon spoon. The hot spoon was glow frogs all kings hit the glow frogs . Trolled out to 500 feet of water. That was a mistake. 1 dead dink to show for it. Riggers down 65 to 75 did the trick. Now heres what really gets me Im not marking hardly any fish besides lakers on the bottom. Very strange to me they must still be scattered. Oh by the way no baitfish either but I guess so what we found the fish
  12. I saw you on my way out about 130 pm Monday, I fished with my partner and his son in law and did about 5 skippys a steelie and a laker. we were hoping for a screamer and had one for half a minute b4 he broke off. I was using 8# test on the screamer but that was not the problem, If you use light line and a blacks release use a rubberband in the release not direct line because the line was weakened at the point of release not because of 8# test
  13. Nothing to brag about here, 2 lakers and a steelhead and a couple that got away. one laker was of size but did a quick release by the boat 72 down 250 feet of water. the steelie was also in the 250 range caught on surface small red spoon. I trolled a lot of water from 50 to 350 and marked very few fish. fished copper dipsey wire and riggers, very disappointing, sorry for a sucky report
  14. I feel I need to give feedback and I will tomorrow after my trip. My fourth time out with limited success. Going to target steel and salmon, will look at the picture at 50 and go from there, If all else fails I will go for lakers
  15. Was going to try for some browns today but could not launch, Does anyone know whats going on, with the genny river launch. Went to Ibay and the docks are not in and the bridge is a road, please enlightment me. That's enough to piss off the pope
