  1. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Sally II ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 8/21 Time on Water: 7am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== East winds, 3 footers, overcast skies, should have stayed home. Good bait in 100 FOW in the AM, no action. Went out deep to 25 line. Something small tripping the dipsy a couple times - back 250 over 400 FOW. Got caught in a thunderstorm...had to drive right through it to get back...interesting, but never really want to do that again. Guys at the dock picked up a few, but seemed slow all around. Can't wait for some normal weather patterns and for the kings to get here!
  2. Try reversing the dipsies. I get it wrong usually at the beginning of every trip. I believe you have to turn around and face the bow and then left is left and right is right. If you have them reversed, they may appear to be tracking straight, but are actually tracking the wrong way. Not 100% sure this is the issue, but might be worth a try.
  3. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Sally II ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 8/14 Time on Water: 7am Weather/Temp: dark and cloudy Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Seemed pretty slow out of Wilson yesterday. Boated one 8lb Steelhead on a froggy spinny with dipsy out 250 on 3 over 200 fow. 3 great bait balls, but nothing near them. Anyone else finding it slow yesterday? The water seemed pretty inky...weird.
  4. Just ran across this... starting last fall, all boaters need a Canadian boating card? http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/tp ... g-3014.htm I am in Canadian water all the time (Canadian border comes within a couple hundred feet of southwest side of Grand Island). Is this true, we all need to get a Canadian boater's card?

  6. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Owl's Club (for now) ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Monday Sept 7 Time on Water: 6am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: East Waves: Very calm in close, 1 footers out farther Surface Temp: 65 Location: Wilson LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 3 Total Boated: 1 Species Breakdown: Steelhead Hot Lure: Green Fly Trolling Speed: 3 Down Speed: 3 Boat Depth: 280 Lure Depth: 45 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Went out at first light from Wilson. Fished over 80-100 FOW for 3 hours. Seemed to be marking plenty of bait, couple of possible big boys on side sonar, one shaker, but got off because I pulled him into the ball without tripping the release. Pulled up gear around 9am and headed out deep...due north of Wilson to 280 feet of water. Got a release while setting up...but not hooked. Marked and went back...7 lb Steelhead hit a dipsy. Was out 135 feet on number 3...4 inch white spin doctor with green fly. That was all she wrote until we came in at 1pm. Where have all the Salmon gone??? Ed
  7. Heading out this weekend to hopefully catch some salmon. Looking for advice...should I go to the Niagara Bar or Wilson? I know a big fish was caught at the Bar recently, but in general do these fish have lock jaw yet? Thanks in advance...
  8. Get out on the water without breaking the bank. For Sale – really nice 18’ Browning Aerocraft II bowrider - 1976. Boat is water ready and in terrific shape (has been out twice this year). Only 372 hours on the 165 HP Mercruiser I/O. Interior is in excellent shape as well – no rips in vinyl and seats not faded. Boat has been well maintained. Buying bigger boat…must sell. This boat really is a must see…I have seen many boats half as old that are not in this great shape! $2500 or make me an offer. Includes Holsclaw tandem axle trailer. 2004 - new lower unit. 2005 - new starter. 2005 - Optima blue top marine battery. Lower unit just serviced. Water pump/impeller just replaced. Eagle fishfinder and Raytheon fishfinder included (but not installed). Nearly brand new Pro-Techt Mantis umbrella with 2 mounting posts (over $300 value) http://www.pro-techt.com/benefits/ Includes extra brand new prop still in box ($150 value). Removable trolling/fishing board and several rod holders. Convertible top with full canvas enclosure. Mooring cover. Shore cover. Safety equipment included. email [email protected] for more information...
  9. I am buying a 1989 22' Grady White Seafarer and need to buy a new trailer. I launch out of Lewiston, Fort Niagara or Wilson. Looking for advice on bunk or roller trailer. I am leaning toward bunk. I have a roller trailer for my current boat and the hull gets scraped up if the boat isn't aligned just right. Are these launches deep enough to easily accomodate a bunk?
  10. Got out early Sunday at the bar. A little rough in the morning until the winds changed to the West. Fished until the rain came around 11am. Managed to land this one - 26.5 pounder...had to drop to 70 feet over 275 fow to find any cold water. Hit on a Green/White crush spin doctor with Green glow fly. Set the lines back farther than normal - not sure if it helped, but apparantly didn't hurt either. [/img]
  11. New to the forum. I can't find any information on the niagara bar. Anyone catching salmon out there?
