Thanks schoolsout...we are in western wayne county,good drive away.We`ll be looking for larger pike with the possibility of 15# +.That would be a heck of a drive for a few hrs.At this time that drive would be tough.

My buddy is up from georgia (former pike hunter from ny) and i`d like to get him on some pike....we will only have time for a few hrs on tuesday and i have`nt been out lately due to family emerg.Like to hit conesus...how is the bite right NOW?Could you guys give me some updates.

Hey blueEye...sorry i have`nt given a report from lat wknd but maybe give chautauqua point a try.There is a steel breakwall twds the condos that i caught 1 small(in 27fow)on a redhorse deep smity 3.5mph on bottom,missed another same area pulling rod in from a troll(perch ernie)both 80`out,and broke one off 30`off of that wall trolling(rippin) a walleye bulldawg over the weeds-short line-that was a rush!!!noyhing off of where your big girl is located.Nice green weeds though.g-luck

I`m in nitro-good idea.Name the place.I was up to the harbor last friday,too rough on sat(stayed at launch just up from isl view on river rd fri nite) so went to chautauqua.I`ll post a detailed report tomorrow with a pic(small but a fish!)Harbor was 52deg.Trolled all over the north gap/buff river out into the lake(via channel) and up black rock to chief petty officers club....nadda.More tomorrow!!

WOW....great outing chad and thanks for the update .I`m betting you won`t be forgetting that day any time soon.One thing is for sure,i`ll be hitting that area this weekend but not before brad does.Hopefully he hooks up.Wont be `til saturday for me.When someone writes it the way you did it feels as if you too can see it happening-damn good feeling and gets ya ALL worked up.

Just caught the foercast...drops to low 40`s come saturday.

Hopefully BlueEye and yourself do well before that.Sounds just like the tourney...cold front,tight to weeds.I`m gonna have to bear down and do some casting.Wind is also blowing in.That may keep me off the niagara-we`ll see.I`d like to fish it but last minute descision.Thinking of getting in just north of the south grand island bridge at isle view and fish the stretch from the bridge up to tonowanda island.Mr.Toothy gave me a few spots to hit-loaned me his maps and marked`em up.

I`ll probably run into you late friday early sat -we`ll see.

I should come to expect nothing less when making that trip.I like a little inclement weather but @least once this time of year a little milder(drier)would be nice-nuts!I`ll still be out there though pounding some water.

anyone else fire up the auger or sled?i could`nt take it anymore....10pulls for the sled and 8 for the auger.whoohooo.yeah yeah a bit early i know but it felt goood. Just gotta get through bow and the end of musky then put the boat away in mid nov.Need to pull out the shantys and check for rodent damage before it gets to cold.I always seem to wait `till season is here to do this stuff.

Time on the water regardless of weather(last year it was rough,windy,rain and it even snowed a little brrrr).I`ll hit bell tower up to irwins for a bit then over to dewittville bay for a couple rounds all the while looking for bait-if none present i`ll run through areas that have produced fish in the past in these areas.May even run down nomans land(middle)to long pt.Gotta run toms` pt area as well.Then to the southend starting around the ferry to the south side of bridge.fish i`ve picked up here have`nt been huge but have saved the day more often than not when nowhere else has produced.....running drifter stalkers in glitter perch and black perch straight versions 25-30feet back @3-4mph.I`m still working on finding bigger fish in the fall but i`m getting closer I`ll be trolling 95% of the time!

Besides stalkers i`ll run mr.toothy`s deep and shallow(12ft on up)medium gotcha`s,ernies and have got some smity trollers i just bought for low and slow trolling.

Send me a pm,i`ll get a hold of ya when i`m out there.Nitro may be there as well(????)

your assumption would be correct georged.....the harbor is @ this end of lake erie just down from the mouth of the niagara river.There are bass and walleye to be had there as well but the musky does get rather large there.From what i hear it is`nt what it used to be but is getting better.I`m up for a trip!!!!!(i would`nt mind an eye or two-i keep reefrunners in the boat just for that special occasion-a 4lb smallie would be a nice treat as well).Good luck on waneta
