We got skunked at the mouth (~20-25 FOW) of the Genny. Went and had a beer and wings on the deck at O'Laughlin's afterwards and saw a charter boat coming in with a zillion seagulls behind it. Assumed they were cleaning fish. Before you ask, yes I need to get a life but that's what fisherman notice! Think that boat was out farther. But very few boats (4-5) were working the mouth of the piers. Too early? It will be on soon.

Apologies if I couldn't find a spot to post this correctly. If so, I will move as directed. That being said - anybody ever fish the Miami, FL area? I'm going down for Bills game in November and want to go out in the ocean, canals, or lake? Anybody have any advice on charters? Went about twenty years ago out in the ocean and had a disappointing trip. Will fish for anything as long as there is action. Thanks!

I agree with LongLine. The Port of Rochester launch is very big. I think I have seen them launching Coast Guard vessels there. The launch at Irondequoit Bay is pretty short and narrow. I would launch at the Port and you can still access the bay with e 5-10 minute cruise over there.

I don't think it matters. Here in Rochester, we regulaly deal with the off color plumes from the Genny. It is something that has to be considered for spring fishing. Maybe it is an advantage for some. But for me it can get confusing what to use and whereto fish. Perhaps go to where is closest to you, has a good launch, and good places to stay and eat. Also places where you can fish a river or bay if it gets rough. Hope you do well.

Had a chance to get out with a couple of friends in 16’ outboard. Very rough in the Bay but not too bad in the lake. Headed east and got as far as the Webster pier. Browns hit on all different stick baits as long as they were very bright color. Even very small 3” bass plugs worked. We used one dipsy but all others were flatlined. Fire tiger, chartreuse, black and silver all worked. We were in primarily 20’ at 2 knots. In 2.5 hours went 11/12. We are not pros. Had a good time. The gentleman in the photo is pictured with his PB brown trout.

Got out for a couple hours starting at 7AM. Went 2/2 using Dispey's about 10' down on spoons and j-plug's and Luhr Jensen Quickfish #'s 15 and 16 on the top. In the lake we were in 20-30 FOW and in the river about 20-25. The fresher looking one was landed in the lake and the darker one in the river, as you can see from the pics. Graph marked almost nothing in the lake. The river seemed to be loaded (Walleyes/Browns? too). Trolled at 1kt. Never got more south in the river than the bridge. Good luck!

I ended up buying another battery from them. Yes. I know. Dumb. But I wanted to make sure if this one pooped the bed, it was them I bought it from.
