  1. Greetings Anglers,

There are less than 50 seats left for the 2019 Salmon School, so if you are considering it, you may want to pull the trigger soon.  Captains Andy and Matt have  a lot to share and I am looking forward to not only presenting with them but seeing what makes these  two FISH HEADS think !!!

Below are just a few items we will be talking about that day.  This is going to be "one" fun dockside discussion for everyone in attendance.

    A few l tid bits:

We have some great insight and thoughts on MEAT techniques and we're going to spend some a fair amount of time on how to improve everyone's meat game.

Flashers?  These can be a confusing to some.  When to use them and what type works best under what situations.

More Meat-Oh-yeah-were gonna talk meat.. From the perspective of three different guys who may be fishing it a bit different than each other and you.

Tourney tactics? Yep-but brief because most guys are not tourney anglers but for you serious tourney anglers who will be in the house-We're all gonna give you a quick tip on how to make you a better tourney angler. I will have my ears open...

DEEP fish? you will hear about our DEEP fish game....  Esp. from East End Andy who, along with the COLD STEEL makes a living grinding DEEP sharks.

The BAR, nope.. not where Andy and Matt like to go after fishing but the REAL Bar; The Mighty Niagara Bar by the season-SPRING_SUMMER_FALL. We have the BAR master-Matt doing this segment.

The VQ traveling road show will focus on how to dial in your game when you haven't fished much or the winds of change have came or you want to cross the Lake and have a day and  a half to figure out plan to catch kings in  a foreign port.

Canadians, Oh Yes, my friends from Canada!  You guys have been very good to me over the years.... You fellas wont be left out either.. We're gonna talk about catching kings in Canadian waters also and maybe toss in a few tourney tips on catching big KOTL KINGS. (Yvan-you should consider attending)...

    And more.....

Most importantly folks, your ticket to the school supports LOTSA !!!  These guys do a tremendous amount of good to and for the Lake O fishery and so supporting them via membership or the school goes a long way.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the School !

  4. Greetings Tourney Anglers:

Just a reminder that the deadline for including the OZ Pro Am in your group pick is this Friday by midnight.

There are a few less events left to pick from in both if choosing the max of 4. But with Oz, Sodus and the A-TOM-MIK invitational happening on the east end plus the few others, DI and DII teams can still enter and be competitive.

  5. Updated standings:  we have had more teams enter as the tournament season is heating up.  Still plenty of time to get in with $ 5,000 guaranteed in the Di and $2,500 guaranteed in the DII

However, if using the King of Kings score from this coming Saturday, you must enter by 11:59 Friday night June 15th for that event to count.  So, you will need to know your other events at that time and enter them as well.

Link below to the event page and look at the top bar for the standings tab to view the current positions.

  8. Looking forward to participating in the long standing Niagara Pro Am again this year.  Cant wait.

Thanks to everyone and sponsors for making the event happening each year.

There will be some interesting thought processing/strategy going on to try to "solicit" bigger fish only, since this is a 12 and out event with a hot bite going on. However, its Lake O and things can change overnight?

    Capt. Pete

  9. The Series is updated after the WHI...  Congrats to Tom Allen and his Team for the repeat win.

Only (1) DII entry with a guaranteed $2,500 and (6) DI entries with a $5,000 guaranteed payout???

Still time to enter with (8) DI events left and the majority of DII

Next major event is the Niagara Pro AM.

5/4/18: The Lake O series kicked off in St. Caths' at the spring KOTL. Over 60 teams competed in this years event and it went very well except Mother Nature denied us on Day 2 with big winds, snow and cold temps from the NW. That makes 3 years in a row this event turned into a one day shootout. Congrats to Silver Junkies for winning the event followed by Two Fish and Vision Quest. Reel Excitement finished 5th and Oh Baby 41st. Oh Baby, VQ, Reel Excite and Silv J were all entered at the time this event took place and these are the 4 teams currently in DI as of this writing.

Fishing was pretty tough there as only 12 out of 63 took their 5 fish boxes to the scales. Last year, it was a shootout with many 12 fish boxes. Every year is a different gig, that for sure.

Next event will be the Wilson Harbor Invitational on May 19th. Teams must enter by 11:59pm on May 18th to enter and must choose all their events (except second chance) by then.

Just a reminder, this year DI pays $5,000 guaranteed and DII $2,500.00.

  11. Just a reminder that anyone looking to participate in either Div. and include the spring KOTL, will need to enter their picks by the Friday before the spring KOTL.

Great Lakes Special events is announcing season 2 of the Lake Ontario Championship Series.

This year, Division I has a minimum guaranteed payout of $5,000 and Division II $2,500.  Also, we lowered the maximum initial picks from (5) to (4).

Also, this year, we have added a Division II which involves some of the larger tournaments as well as the smaller ones, AM divisions and one day events throughout Lake Ontario.   DII was established more so for the recreational teams, serious am type teams and part time charter captains.  Whereas DI was designed more for the serious tourney teams, pro fishers, hardcore rec anglers and full time captains.
