  1. Folks,

I have worked at the sign in table for this school the last three years and we have always had to turn people away because they tried to get in at the last minute.  Sign up early because it will fill up.  Whether you are a newbie or someone with twenty years experience, you will still learn something from this school.  By signing up, you automatically become a member of LOTSA, you receive a goodie bag of lures and tackle, a very nice lunch and free admission to the expo for only $85.00.  It's a great way to break up the winter, run into old friends and meet new ones.  So go ahead, treat yourself and sign up.

  2. The girl at Lake Breeze Marina gas pump was telling us this afternoon that it has dropped a little bit in the past few days.  The docks at the state ramp on the west side were still underwater where you first step on the docks.  If it stays dry this week, things should start looking a little better.  There was a lot of debris floating around out there ,boards, logs, branches.  Be careful.

  3. Billy was like Superman.  Diving under water. lifting forty foot docks by himself.  He's a one man wrecking crew.  I learned a very memorable lesson.  Never hang on to a nylon rope when you are using a pickup truck to drag a dock out of the water.  I still have all ten fingers thank the Lord.  All in all, it was a fun day.

The concrete ramps have been under water. We were backing straight down with a guy in the boat. Fired her up & idled while I parked the rig. Walked to floating docks just to north of ramp & hopped in!. Debris was the only issue! We moved a few logs that had floated up to launch!

Were you at the Black North on the East side or the state ramp on the West side?  My wife and I took a ride Sunday afternoon and the state ramp was locked with a gate going across the driveway so no one could drive down there.

  5. Hi Paul,

I wish I could but I'm tied up Friday and Sunday.  I would have loved to observe for you guys.  I'm retired now and available anytime.  Let me know if you need an observer for any other tournament.  Good luck to you guys this weekend.

PS Check the observers lunch box before you guys start fishing.  You know what I mean.

    Scott,

I have a ten foot jonboat you can borrow to get to your boat.  You know like those little dinghy's people use to get to there yachts

  7. Happy Father Day to all you guys out there.  I know a lot of us have very busy schedules and busy lives and we would love to get out on the lake as much as we can to catch the big ones.  But once in a while we need to think about our kids and grandkids.  All I saying is give up one of those days and take the kids fishing. Let it be their day.  I don't mean sitting in the boat trolling all day.  That's fine if they are old enough and you are having  good luck pulling fish in and keeping them interested.  I'm talking about taking them to the local pond or creek and letting them pull sunny's and other small fish while you bait the hooks.  Let them have a fun day.  I know from experience, they will not forget those days. They grow up fast and before you know it, they're out the door.   Enjoy the special times with your family and always remember, "There is no journey so far away as yesterday".  God Bless you on this Father's Day.

  8. Great news everyone.  I didn't need any new stents.  There is some blockages in a couple areas but not enough for new stents.  I have several stents from a few years ago and had a mild heart attack.  They are going to adjust my meds and keep an eye on things.  I had a lot of people praying for me yesterday.  Thanks for your prayers.  God is good

  9. I look at it this way,  fishing tounries with Pros 1)  keeps you on your game, 2) gives you the chance to top some of the best names on the lake.  The Sandy Creek Shootout is a tourney that has Captains and Rec anglers battling it out.  EVERY year, recs out fish some big name captains.  Look at the standings and you will see names like Trout n About, Yankee Troller and Running Rebel.  These guys all have done well at the Pro level and have been beat by rec anglers.  Boat size is only an advantage in very rough weather IMO.  With a solid crew, some knowledge and the right gear, you should be able to compete.

Brian, the shootout is on my birthday this year.  What a nice present that would be.
