any local shop should have what ya need....depends where ya live
30 series reels and 8'6 medium / heavy rods will be good all around size to start out
enough stuff on this site to get ya going also...meet up with a few guys and you will be set up before ya know it

last bump before I put it up for season

knew there were ppl that would chirp about but have never done it

adding a ball snubber will releive alot of the bounce with the newer faster cannons
word is the power pro cable is less noisy in the water
last couple years MANY guys have reported trouble with the cable snapping

another choice is to leave around 700' of braid on your reel..tie braid to the wire (albright knot ) and put 500' of wire on....can do 2 reels with one spool this way
many will disagree but ive done it many times and will continue to do it

30 lb is most common
spools same as mono.....keep it as tight as possible
around 45.00 for 1000 ft spool
