  1. The night bite has been good.In two night trips my friend and I have gotten 3 northerns 2 bass and 11 walleyes.the largest northern was 9 or 10lbs.otter 2 were maybe 3or4lbs.The walleyes have been nice eating size2.5 -4 lbs average largest being 7.4lbs.The bite is best after 11pm.

  2. Hawkeye I also have a 19.5 Sea Nymph I have the 101lbs.thrust Minn Kota Terrova on it with the auto pilot.I wouldn't fish the Niagara without it.The auto pilot really helps with boat control. The 101 has enough power to turn up stream to get snags out with out having to fire up the main engine in most drifts. My friend has the 80 pound on his boat which is about the same size and also does very well.We have also used it Walleye trolling and it worked great it's nice to be stealth in the shallow water.I have not tried it on the Big Lake yet but am looking forward to trying it on a calm day for trout and salmon. It's a big investment but it can really enhance your fishing experience.

  3. I see your not getting a lot of input here,so i'll give you my 2 cents because that's what it is worth.I have had a boat that I put an auxiliary bracket on and now I have a boat I put the kicker on the transom.I like it better with the auxiliary bracket.I used a omc bracket and they are the best bracket I have seen and very user friendly.I use the easy steer and it worked better with the motors further apart.I don't know if the CMC bolts in the same holes as your old motor holes but you mite run into trouble moving your main engine over, with your steering, and would be worried about putting more holes near your old holes and weakening your transom it's an older boat. The boat I have now I put the kicker on the transom the person that had it before me must have had it on the transom also because it was scared up.That's one of the reasons I put it there after using the boat a couple of times I ran in from off shore and my kicker just about fell off the transom being a little rotted from people including me putting it on with the" death grip."I have it reinforced now but next winter I'll have to redo my transom and will be putting my OMC bracket back on.At least with a bracket you can put near the corner of the boat were it is stronger .I hate to make more holes but I think it's better. As far as off setting the weight I have always put kicker on the passenger side to offset it from my weight.Use your battery gas tank to get proper balance.Sorry for being so long winded.hopefully it will help.

  4. My friend Bob and I fished The Niagara river yesterday. We caught 5 Steelhead biggest 9.5lbs.While fishing the Stella Niagara drift we saw a deer that decided it would defect from Canada. It swam about 50 yards from the boat.It looked pretty tied by the time it reached the shore on the US side. This was a first for me.We went out to the Bar and got 1 Lake Trout on minnows.Slow day of fishing but a beautiful day to be out.

  5. Thanks Gezijamez I know of the Lord I think thats where I got my riggers from about 10 years ago.I thought I would try here first.I should just get new riggers but I have been out of work for a while and money is getting tight. If I trailer my boat to long Island again I think I'll take my riggers off they sure took a beating, but the blues and strippers sure were fun.

  7. I have to agree with Chowder .I have 1990 15hp Evinrude long shaft ,in rough seas on the Big O it would grab a little air on the prop on the crest of a wave and almost swamp on the troth. It's not so bad now I have a alum. boat it rides much higher in the water. On my glass boat it would almost swamp. My Evinrude has elec. Start .That thing has run like a Swiss watch, for years and has never skipped a beat. You get the right set up with your kicker and steering and for me it has been the best investment I have made for my boat.I did what Chowder said when I installed mine. I line the Cavitation plate up with each other with my motor trimmed down and that was about perfect. But that was outboard to outboard.

  8. SinDale I'm with you I think the last thing I would put on it is carpet.I haven't used it on a boat but I would go with frp Fiber reinforced plastic. It comes in 4x8 sheets. It's easy to work with it can be cut with a plywood blade in a circular saw just put the blade in backwards. It dose not hold moisture like carpet, and your hooks don't get stuck in it.You can get frp at Lowes or home depot.I Have only seen it there in white and yellow. If you go to Henrietta Building Supply you can order other colors. If it were me while at (HBS)I would get 1 5eights galvinized metal studs and track to reframe it,as long as it is not in contact with alum.or other metal that it could react with.Yes over a long time it may leave rust stains but it will hold up a lot better than wood, much liter than wood easy to conform to curves. You can get it in heavier gauges 18 Gauge is real nice to work with.I built a casting platform in my freinds boat and it and turned out nice and has held up great, and was much liter than using wood. For the sheeting I wood use exterior plywood the frp will keep it dry.Leave your plywood up 1/4 " to keep it out of the water the frp will cover the voids. This is just my thoughts I am sure there will be some - feed back but I have done a few boat projects and have had good results.Good luck.
