I'll be perch fishin' on Erie for the walleye opener. Water temps are gonna be a challenge early this year.

Presently over ninety per cent of the Eastern Basin is ice covered. Normally we would have thirty eight per cent coverage. Add a couple weeks for planning a trip to the Niagara Bar this spring.
That's not going to bode to well for the perch fishing. It sucks for this recent retiree

That's where I bought my boat won't buy another thing there. Truly the worst experience ever there multiple times.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I've bought 3 boats from them in the last 8 years and have been happy every time.

Thanks for all the replies and pictures I have to see if anyone carries them in the area. I don't mind ordering online but I feel like I'd be more comfortable seeing it in hand without shipping it back if needed.Sent from my SPH-L720 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Anchor Marine is an authorized dealer. They might have what you're looking for.

That's a perfect Redneck party boat.

Random cold weather slump thought...........
I know lots of folks play around with spear fishing in Florida.
Not that there would be a big market or season. Why is it against the rules in NY?
Everything is against the rules in New York...That is why living in Florida is so relaxing!!!!
This should be the New York state motto;
Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?

Nice clean wiring setup. I've been looking at some type of a "plug and unplug" setup like that for my boat since it doubles as a pleasure craft.
What kind of plugs did you use on the male and female ends and do you like how they worked out?
Check out Marinco.com. I used their ConnectPro plugs for my Big Jons. Works out great when it comes time to take the riggers off the boat.

Try BigMikesForum.com. He reports on the Skyway piers which are not too far from Venice. Also FloridaSportsman.com. Lots of info from around the state. I live in Jacksonville when I'm not in New York and have a daughter that lives in Tampa. Spend some time on the Skyway piers, the fishing can be incredible at times.

Reports I'm hearing is that radio control boats will be next...... Gotta love KING Cuom !!!!!!!

Great catch!!! Quinte is one place you can count on to catch quality walleye.

I have TraxTech on both my boats. IMHO they are a better built product.

I need the bulbs also. Brings some relief to a hectic work day!!!!!

Still some slush ice at Sturgeon Pt launch. Shouldn't be long now. Biggest problem will be the sandbar accross the mouth of the harbor.Water is super low.

Contest was won by Herb Schultz with five fish weighing 7.7 lbs. They payout for the top ten places. You needed better than 5.5 lbs just to place. Lots of perch caught yesterday. Great tournament. Great turnout for the picnic. Mark your calendars for next year.

Spoke to Capt Frank yesterday and have two 22" buggy bags on the way
I have the same boat as you. I run two beefy bags. I can get my speed down to 1.8 mph. You're going to enjoy your bags. Going into my sixth year with them and they are holding up good.

Can anyone steer me to where I can buy 16lb rigger balls? Thanks in advance.
Torpedo Diver sells sixteen pound downrigger weights....
Price $79.99 USD
Approximately $79.99 CAD
Torpedo Diver Downrigger Weight 16lbs

Check out Trax Tech tracks. I run two Big Jon Brutes that I slide into 16" tracks mounted on the transom. I also have gimbal mount tracks that hold my rod holders. Awesome quality products.
-
I agree with tbromund. I have two beefy bags that are going into their fourth season. Give Capt. Frank a call and he'll direct you to the proper size bag. I can't say enough about the quality of his product...........

Will the plastic transom plates install with 2 screws? The one pictured in Cabelas shows 4.
Buy the plate that is drilled for the two screw setup. The last one I got at Gander.Anchor Marine on Grand Island has these plates also.
-
Transom mounting plates are the way to go.You only need to drill two holes to attach it.This way if you make a mistake you are not putting extra holes in the transom.$10.00 bucks at Gander or your freindly marina...........
