calling all you old timers on Seneca lake

I have one of those reels, and just started using it this year. All I do is put a twin minnow on the end and let enough line out so that the lure scrapes the rocks on the bottom. I work the line a little, yank is and let it go back once in a hile. That has been the hot setup for lakers for me all season! You need to feel the lure scraping the bottom. -
I am using 30# mono. I will try the Ande and see if it help. Went out this morning also (8/6) and got some fleas, but not as bad as last night. The weeds were bad, though

Started at 5:00pm to 7:00pm Fished north of Long point - 3 LL, 1 laker, 1 brown. Had trouble keeping lines in the water! But the fleas were bad.

about 12 miles from south end. Fished Wednesday also. Good lakers most all day, about the same depth. weeds were real bad on the east side. did not have any problem with fleas, only the weeds

I've been fishing in 55 FOW on the bottom and getting 4-6 pounders. Sounds like you had a great day? What lure are you using?? I didn't figure they would be out that deep quite yet. How far down do you think your dipsies were?? Thanks -
Good laker fishing in 50-60 FOW on the bottom. Nice 5-6 pounders 5 for 8. Lots of floating weeds all over though. Today (7/8) they seemed to have moved. Maybe deeper??

The east side seemd to be worse than the west side. Caught a lot of weeds on the downriggers. West side was more fishable.

Went to Conesus today. We fished the south end, and I think the pike are gone from there. We caught lots of bullhead on pike minnows, and largemouth bass too. No pike to be had.....

Hi guys, Kind of a Seneca newbie here. Actually, haven't fished it since late 80's. I'm finding things have changed a lot with the zebra mussels. Been trolling for trout using everything I can think of, but with no luck. I am in the Starkey area. Not even marking much.. Any pointers you could give me?? Lakers, salmon, bows, anything!! help!!
