  1. Thanks gents...me and my two crewmembers will be fishing Friday afternoon through Sunday Morning. Look for an older model wht/blue trophy hardtop 22' - "Reel Power". Got four riggers hanging off the back and a cooler on the swim platform. Kgone I've seen your informative posts on OGF. I fish out of Eastlake. I'd love to share info with you during the trip. Shade I'll look for Bananas (we've got a dock reserved at the marina) and try to hail you on 10 or 68. I'll stay on 68 for standby. Kgone if you want to give me a call my cell # (216) 780-4266. 3 days and counting... Jarrett
  2. Thanks for the tip Tim...I'll look for your boat in the harbor and I'll have my big glow gators charged up! We reserved a dock at the marina and will camp at Harborside. Gonna hit it hard Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday morning. Any tips greatly appreciated...I can reciprocate with Erie steelhead walleye info if you're down Cleveland way. Jarrett
  3. Thanks for the info...I'm heading up this Friday for the weekend...should I consider night fishing with the full moon phase?
  4. Ouch...at least you didn't get skunked! A stolen plug that's ghetto style...what boater would do that...anyone got a reason to sink your boat?
  5. Alright this may sound cheap but I just made a net extension out of a smaller gauge aluminum fly rod storage tube. I inherited a nicely sized salmon net with a broken-off handle. Works alright for walleye but I needed reach for a first trip to Olcott this weekend. Before I spent $ I found the fly rod tube in the garage. It is about 1 1/4 or so inch inside diameter. The hexagonal net handle slid fairly tightly into the tube...a surface of duct tape on the broken net handle made a tight but removable fit. Now I have a 9' net handle...before I was at 5' with a pokity-stabbity broken end. Might not be your fix but perhaps someone else has a net like this in their garage... Can't wait for Olcott.
  6. I'm coming up to Olcott from Cleveland next Fri.-Sun. Can't wait. Sounds like the bite has been real good this year. Only been out on Ontario once before on a charter (Oak). Olcott looks real friendy...any tips for fishing/camping in the area? Do y'all use channel 68 or 69 for chatter up there? Oh yeah, what depth/distance is the "Ledge" I hear about in reports from Olcott/Pt. Breeze? Gonna get me one on a j plug for old times sake. Thanks for any helpful pointers. Jarrett
  7. Thanks for your helpful report. I'm heading up to Olcott for the first time next Friday-Sunday. Trying to get a spin doctor game together here in Cleveland...sounds like they are doing well all over the lake. I'm counting the days while re-spooling the gear.
