    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

caught a pair of mature atlantic salmon yesterday!!! thats the highlight of the year for me unless i catch a bigger one!! i would have pics of all but all fish were released as ussual. its more important to release the big ones than the little ones and we caught all large fish yesterday. chose not to harm the other fish by keeping them out of the water long enough for pic. felt bad enough keepin the atlantics out of water for pics. sorry hope these do me justice. anybody that wants to rease some for later dont grab those ones by the gills. a buddy on my boat yesterday grabbed a brown by the gills so i was forced to keep him. he was a bit large for a sandwich weighing in at a touch over seven pounds.

  2. little fish dont usually chase big lures and big fish will chase small lures so the smaller profile is ussually better in my opinion. i started using my hand tied single hook peanut flies and they work great on staged kings behind r&r 8 inch assasins and baby spin doctors. it was a pretty consistant producer last year.

  3. well i hunt pulaski and i do not call that hunting pressure if you compare it to southerntier. if your in an area where the only reason the dear move is because hundreds of people push them around...thats hunting pressure. i happen to love hunting pulaski and i see plenty of game and the best part is they move on their own scedule, not from other hunters busting them out. i love pulaski and the only thing that could make it better would be that stupid ramp at the lighthouse needs to be updated desperatly.

  4. i use shower cutain loops with an electrical aligator clip with rubber tube covering the teeth on the aligator clip. i paint them orange too so i can see them. i learned all tht from trial and error. been working for couple years now withought fail. cheap too.

  5. i used 65lb powerpro and like those stated before, its great. there is absolutly no problem with fleas compared to everything else. its just a different dive rate and you have to learn the line drop in the water trick to get the fleas off like any other mono. i like wire better though. although i disagree with the drag your thumb on the wire while setting out. new is ok but after 2 or 3 years i woulndt want to catch a loose end in the thumb while the dipsey yanks the cable. just loosten your drag, and whene your out far enough just tighten the drag enough to stop the diver from taking line while trolling.

  6. so ive been told mexico bay WAS a good spot to go out for lake trout...and big ones. what the heck happend to them. i havent caught one yet and i even tried before. guys that have fished this lake for 20 years say that you could catch them on command in 200 fow all year long. are those days long gone? if not i could use a few tips on how to go after them. ive never caught one in lake ontario, just the finger lakes. the charter fleet in mexico bay is huge so what are you guys doing for a consistant summer fishery for your costomers? even browns are hit or miss during warm months. for me that is. are you guys finding fish inside 200 feet or is everybody forced to make the cold water run?? is it worth it to dock up at mikes or should i cut my losses and stay at oneida for the summer.
