Hm interesting. I personally don’t think there’s a population issue though. Most of the other reports here are of people being successful (perhaps some have too much pride to post when they don’t get any ). Plus I’m marking enough to make me think there’s plenty there. Totally open to others’ opinions though. I hope it’s not a population issue!

I'm not sure myself. I know we lost a big stocking due to a stocking screw up. Not sure how it might be affecting the brown trout population. I know there are people in this forum who know more about what happened than I do. I believe someone here posted it when it happened.

If you've had success in years past, I think it is right to assume you know what you are doing. I think the factors you can control (speed, lures, presentation) we can also assume you're using proper technique. How was the boat traffic? That could play a part. Also consider weather. I've noticed out of Mexico point we either do really well or really poorly. This year has been far more of the former than the latter for me. I know what it's like though, to see some reports of catching 30 in one day; whereas on that same day, I can barely land a single fish. Frustrating. I do not think there is a population problem in the Lake, if that is what is on your mind, and i think most would agree.

Not so sure of that. Remember 2 years ago when they did a brown stocking in Oswego and the cormorants took most of them. Some kind of mishap....didn't go out far enough before releasing them? Not sure what happened but there is probably a few guys on this forum who remember.

Well i can vouch for that mikeyP i pitched the whole motor as the salt ate the power plant from the inside out. If it was flushed faithfully it will be a different story!!!

Yep. I learned the hard way years ago too. Spent a lot of money replacing this and that and in the end the motor was basically eaten up from the salt and had to be replaced. Should of done it earlier than I did.
