All fish were successfully released after a quick photo! post-144884-0-77829200-1373906995_thumb.jpgpost-144884-0-59889400-1373907026_thumb.jpgpost-144884-0-50815800-1373907053_thumb.jpgpost-144884-0-18238500-1373907071_thumb.jpgpost-144884-0-88689400-1373907088_thumb.jpgpost-144884-0-54052400-1373907014_thumb.jpg

  3. Fished all three days, Thursday slept in a little later than normal. Got out and set up around 8 am north of the river in 140' had three releases with no one home then the rigged with green mountain dew flashed and green hammer fly takes off for Canada ran out 400' + could not gain anything for every 20 gained I lost another 80'. After 35 minutes of give and take a 30.48 lb king hit the deck! And that would be the only one landed and three days !post-144884-13732150934718_thumb.jpgpost-144884-13732151131656_thumb.jpg

  4. Sweet Browns! Nice Job "Gettin' Some", we couldn't get anything to go went west A-Frame to the high rocks, one small mouth and 3 little alewives <img title=":-(" class="bbc_emoticon" src="http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif" data-cke-saved-src="http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing-hunting/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif" /><br /><br />Dave

  5. That lake is home turf, and have fished it since the '70's.

The launch at Marion Manor, has had me almost in tears before,(and upset) watching some of the "fisherman" get in the water.

Plugs not in, boat still attached to the back of the trailer, scratching their a## wondering why it is not floating off,  forgetting to un-hook the winch strap causing the boat to ground itself, etc.

"Hey dummy, remind me to call ya' dummy", as Fred Sanford would say............lol.

Yeah I like to fish Oneida, but I put in at Godfrey's Point, it can get pretty and steep launch.

  6. I don't know about "Unwritten Rules", but the one I try to live by is treat other boats as you would hope they treat you. Not always the case though. If you ever fish in front of the Salmon River in the fall you will for surely have an incident or two :muscle: . The googans will be out in full force then! Other than that time of year most everyone you fish along side of in Mexico Bay anyways will be curtious and helpful:)

  8. Went for the first time out in our "new to us" boat. Found the stained water in front of catfish and landed 3 browns and 1 smallmouth in 2 hours, out to 30 ft. all on bright sticks except for one big brown on an R&R spoon that was down about 8 ft over 30. I couldnt get as slow as I would like, thinking about AO bags to slow down. GPS was at about 2.8, fishhawk at the surface kept creeping up to 4.0 with the throttle all the way down. I have a 23ft walkaround, and figured the 2 18 inch bags would be enough to slow me down where I need to be...

    BHufnagle,

I have a 21' Trophy walk around and I used the 24'' bags and could get down below 1mph with no problem, went with a new kicker this year and i wish I had done it long ago!

  9. I run 1000' feet of Malin on 47lc's with no backing, just the tape as mentioned about with no problem. I run snubbers so then I can have the drags alittle tighter, but some people don't, which ever you prefer. But just like everyone has stated they are fun to have a 20-30 salmon just taking off, the feel you get of the power these fish really have is amazing! Have fun and hang on :)
