I have been launching at Bay Bridge Bait Store this year, it’s been fine.
i tried the public launch in early June and found it very tough and a bit unsafe with my 23’ Cuddy. There are people launching there, small boats, jet skis and bass boats.
You can’t really tie off to the dock and park your truck.
It was a dumb idea. F[r fixed docks.

First trip out for the year. Started a new job and have been working some insane hours. Shot out of the chute at 5:30am and set up shot in 150 fow with an awesome screen. Sent the fishhawk down and found that temp got pushed down. It was 51 down 108 in 150fow. Trolled north out to 250 with a nice screen but no takers. Lake started to get a little chop going out deep so I picked up shop and headed in to 180fow. Set 4 riggers down to 77, 87, 97, and 107. Took a shot on the 77 rigger instantly. Had on a UV Nbk spoon. About 15 minutes later at 8:15 am I hooked up to a 24lb king in 178fow. Down 108 feet. Didn’t know it was hooked until it saw the boat. Fish darted under the boat and got wrapped in 2 rigger wires. I don’t know how we boated that fish but we did. Trolled around until 11am and then headed in. Good thing we did because around 1145 one of the nastiest thunder storms I have ever seen rolled through. Over all I had a pretty screen all day but not many takers. The king I caught has around 10 baitfish in his stomach that were all 5-8 inches.
Great Report.your pic tells it all.
I made it in your before that same storm.

Thank you all for the information!
Having a reasonable starting point with only 4 or 5 hours to fish is very helpful.
Pastyears id always be where the termocline hit bottom.it still is.just stay clear of the quagas.last light the best bite.

Great post.evenings have always been the most productive. Thirty plus years probably 78 % of kings were late .
Two rods was all we needed.

we fished monday found the best action 200 to 250.We didnt boat any 0 for 5.Bullfrig flasher and bait has been good. Thermocline was very tight.Flys and heat was tough, fles were scarse. The fish were also scarse best to use gps ,There is alot of barren water to cover.Glad the heat is leaving for awhile,no more trips when the heat is as bad as monday.

Every year the state stocks thousands of browns in Pultneyville. Then hundreds if not thousands of birds have a feast. I watched yesterday id say the bird missed half the time lol
For my two cents Id at least hold off till the bait was in or how about letting the fish go out in the lake
I appreciate the stocking program but hate to see this loss.

Forgot to post last Thursday. Solo out of Oak sunrise - noon. 120-130' held 45F. A bookend and this 12 pounder. Dreamweaver 42nd downrigger 45/123. Kept beating up a pod of (alewife?) I marked 80-floor over 120-130. I'm not sure I've ever seen such a full belly

It's not so much your risking trouble but think of the firemen who may have risk their lives rescuing you.
I've been on this lake 40 years and know you can never be sure on wind and weather.
