I saw several boats out trolling during the FLTA tourney Sunday on Keuka. One I noticed was running two sets of planer boards. I thought those were mainly for winter/spring after the lake turns over and fish are in the top 20-30 feet. I'm curious if they were running lures deeper off of them somehow, or conversely were picking up fish higher up? Not a troller myself, just curious.
I am sure they were running copper or leadcore off the planer boards. We run them year around

Billy, fish 30'-60' east. Browns and Kings. It was nuts this past weekend.

How fast do you troll for Browns this time of year? Never fished Browns this time of year. Thinking of taking my son out this weekend and trying it

We went 18 for 22 on Saturday. Sea sick waddlers two face spoons did real well. Caught a bunch on flasher flys as well. The stud fly as usual did its thing. 3 fish over 19 but couldn’t break 20 lbs. 150 to 160 feet was best for us

I bought a couple ratcheting rod holders this spring thinking they looked more rugged than the Bert’s I had. First time I used one of them it stripped out. Hoping their is some kind of warranty. Paid like $140 apiece. Was interested in traxtech contact as well

We fished out of Sandy as well. Went 14 for 15 all kings. The one lost was due to drag not being set. Good bye spin doctor and stud fly. Lots of 2 year olds nothing bigger than low teens. Best depth was 160. Waters good and cold from all the east winds. Best spoon was carbon 14 moonshine. The fog and black flies were fun...lol

I’d go with wire on the dipsy rods. Especially during flea season. But definitely get yourself a couple Seth Green rigs

What size boards do you use Jason? Never tried that with the rigs. Great idea. Mike
