  1. Big-o - yes, it is exactly one i caught today.. so is that one grass carp or no? i saw several bigger ones than one i caught today. i hoping to catch one of those big ones.
  2. Ouch! thats awesome pictures of them all! 51lbs beast looks so huge! i wonder if i could catch same range as your fish! Haha i dont think it will be happen for while until i learned where they like to live at. or which spot is holding many of them. Since i'm from Rochester. none of that fish is grow that big. im sure it will take some time to figured it out. thank for your help on chum baits and baits too!
  3. I went out same spot where i caught my carp. I only could fishing for 30 minutes so i caught one small carp but it is look like silver blend with brown color with bass like mouth. unlike common carp. I wonder is it grass carp? im not sure because I caught it in black creek. i tried to search if there has one in black creek but found nada about it. so can anyone tell me if it was possible it is grass carp. i searched google about grass carp. they are more likely same one i caught. it weight like 8 pounds give or take. i was dumb enough to forget to take picture of that fish. I wish I could show picture to confirm it. But it was around with common carp. one of them was bright silver color and wayy bigger than common carp in group. you can easily hand pick that fish out of all common carp in there.
  4. Big-o - that pictures definitely BIG help for me! I'll try them out sometime soon! i'll let you know whats going on if i went out. Many thanks for help me out again!!
  5. rshubuck - Thank again! i'll able try what from you saying to me and following from what video told me to do. hopefully it will works.
  6. Big-o - oops, i forget to answer your question, yes, i'm using both of them, if they didn't worked out, i changed to hair rig with corn on it. but its still not working. i didn't done anything different from day one that i caught 7 carps with my friend.
  7. rshubuck - thanks for help! i'll look into your advice that you comment. hopefully it will work well for me! also, can you give me info how to make one of those (homemade jello corn ball) you made for carp fishing? those looks like something that carp will attacks. maybe it worked better than corn. but in some point, i have try something else.. ohh, you using treble hook for carp fishing? i wonder if that would help my success more better. i'll try them out sometime this weekend.
  8. Big-o - Thank for advice! Yeah, i'm glad i am not only one who have this similar problems. looks like i have to wait few minutes after let them bit the hooks. until they figured out that they sucked hooks into their mouth then i can set hook up. but i'll able to go out again this weekend. so i'll put up report if i got success or not.
  9. I was able to go out for few minutes to fishing. on sunday, i was fishing for two hours and losing five huge carps. Andrew and I seem like cant hook up after several seconds after fighting. I wonder whats went wrong with it. I using smaller hooks while Andrew using little bigger hook than mine. we are using corns and we did throwing corns after big hits.. they kept coming back and unhook again after fighting. On monday, i only can fish for half hour. and got 0-2. same problem with unhook while fighting. again!! Any advice how to ensure to stay hooked on carp while fighting? just wonder, i never had this problem after fishing whole of my life. after through many hit and miss, i know how it works now, but this one stuck me for long time. how i did fighting on carp. i always pull the rod once then let it play. I always let low drag on and using hand to slow down carp escaping speed away from me once they knew they are hooked. several second after fish give up and I begin to reel it and it comes unhooked. so any idea what i did wrong with this one?
  10. I was reading Big-O reports and i gotten jealous of him to keep catching that big carps! so that sparked me new ideas to go targeting them for while. I went out first time for carp fishing in which I never fishing nor caught them before. It was thrilled experience for me. even through i learned that i have no patience for waiting them to bite my hooks. I saw tons of carps whirls around river that i recently found nearby my secret bass hole. So i was using sweet corns on the hook and it is worked very well for me. I went fishing with my friend, he never caught carp before so we decide to give it a shot to see what happen from there. He caught first one. somehow, we found secret cave right under of us so we getting to wet our line into 3 feet away from us. BOOM! actions started for 2 hours fishing with 8 pounds line. It felt like we was snagged tail of salmon and salmon was escaping from us. At beginning, I didn't realized that carp was very stronger fighter once they knew they was hooked. But i was happy with my result of carp fishing. even through I lost monster carp that might weight 20plus weight on edge of shore while i tried to catch it. (we didnt have nets on us) Duh of us! here is the picture of our day! My friend-Andrew's fish My fish that has been caught. I wanted to note you guys.. Carp was being caught and released back into river. None was kept. 2 hours of fishing= 7 carp out of 8 hits. Carp was in range of 10pounds to 13 pounds. Well, it was pretty great number for us since we knew nothing or how to catch them or where to begin. I guess we got lucky at today! It was great to learned new tricks and new adventure of new fish fishing. Cannot wait to get back out there again when weekend comes up again! Keep Fishing!!
  11. I was fishing in my secret spot and completely forgetten how to catch a bass after 2-month of fishing in the saltwater. Lucky me, i was able to pick up the memories. so I caught couple of them, two sunfish, and two pikes with my friend from California. I suggest him to be member into here few days ago. he will sign into here sometime soon. Anyway, here are the pictures! all of pictures is taken by phone. Friday- here is nice bass caught out of water. surprise attack on spinner bait. Saturday- This is my friend, Andrew, who caught his first pike on fishing pole in his life time. his pike is on his right. Here I am. my pike is smaller than Andrew and it is on my left. Sunday- I felt little bite so i bang pole so hard like bass hit it. you know how it did, but end up it was snagged sunfish on belly. darn it. but it still swam free. weird thing happen next cast after released hurted sunfish. Monday- i had to skip a day to keep focus on my first day of college in which its sucked when it started on labor day!! I'm supposed to be on water like everyone who has day off! but amazing enough at next day! today was pooped day, caught nothing, until I fishing edge of weeds on pond, and caught this! KEEP FISHING!! look forward to post sometime soon when going out fishing again!
  12. I just got boat last weekend, I know most of boat rules and how to drive it. But only few things that being concern for me lately. First of concern, I cannot speak at all, so if there something wrong, someone usually will radio for help. But since im profound deaf, how can I get help from someone? if something happens? Secondly, if boat is broke down and how can I get boat towed into? however, i will using my phone on the boat. so it will be playing big role for me on the emergency call. I wondering if I can get some of your guys text numbers in the case if i got something happens on the boat? I will only running out from IBAY for this fall. I would appreciate if someone will ring this up with advice about my situation or give me text number so i can get help if i needed to. Since i planning to get captain license sometime soon. so I wonder how it is possible for me to get safety rigs on my boat. Since i cant use radio. Big thanks if someone did post info for me sometime soon!!
  13. im using gaff for unhook from the shark. so i wont losing my hand for it.
  14. I caught it while striper bass fishing charter. charter people beg me to catch it so they can take great pictures for it. so i asked my captain about the situation, he said if they want it then you can go ahead, so i did. i hand feed them before put hook one of those bait that shark ate it. It was great day to caught it. that shark is called blue shark. maybe close to 8 or 9 feet long and 200-220 pounds. but just assume the weight from looking. so i might be wrong. anyway, here it is.
  15. here is one of my 40lbs striper bass.. and I didnt realized that I never took second bass is that same weight. But this picture will do. jkarol24, Nice bass! ray k, yeah I understand how you feel about those crappy lobster boat passby. It is happens so often in this area.
  16. thank nitromusky and zach on this one! i dont want to break any rules or ruining someone's day with that 20 foot running over the lake.. anyway, yeah, i heard that story few times in canadice lake. since i went to honeoye lake for ice fishing couple of time at last year.. was planning to go there but decide not to.
  17. HAHA! I'm so jealous already!! NICE FISH!!! Definitely huge! whats lure that i been heard of? i think it is called musky rocket since Solgrande said it on his post? is that right one?
  18. Wow, I guessed it wrong.. I guess I might go canadaigua sometime when I can.. Since its closer than another two lakes that you mentioned it.. Thanks for let me know about that! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  19. First of all, I didn't realized I was using little offensive language that I post eariler.. I just want to say, sorry to anyone if anyone being offend by this. Secondly, someone told me that there are special regulation about using boat in hemlock and canadice lake so I wonder if there is any regulation about boat for fishing in conesus? Since I have 20 footer boat and 265 horsepower.. Its is i/o motor. So is that ok to use in conesus? Or it is not approve for conesus? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  20. Aw that's sucked for me, I just bought 20 foot boat. It is pleasure boat.. Kinda of open bow. So I guess I couldn't go either of those.. I guess I have to stick to lake ontario because I'm not gotta drive 80miles or more to canadaigua from rochester.. But once for while, I might able do that.. P.s that's bring me new question, during the ice fishing season, do I need special license to fish at hemlock or canadice lake? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  21. Thank zach, Yeah I will buy few jerkbaits and popper that u just suggest to use.. Sound like good.. Ill try them out sometime at conesus when I buy them.. Hopefully it will worked out like what you just told me.. Thanks for the advice on lures.. Ohh one more thing, does size of lure is matter? Or big ones will be fine? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  22. Rolmops-- thanks for let me know about that! But I have i/o motor so is that okay or still cannot into that lake? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  23. How come I didn't see anyone post info or reports in lake conesus lately? I planning to go up there in sometime soon. I just wonder if someone can ring this up with report sometime soon! Or nobody went fish at conesus this time of year? Haha I doubt it. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
