  1. Tom- thank for your post! I really appreciate it! I planning to go hemlock or candice lake.. Since they are closer to rochester area. Now, I have all info about how to target them now.. One last thing, I know nobody will give up their honey hole but can anyone give me general description where to start fish at? Since I have no electronics to find them.. Or baitfish.. So any advice?? Thanks again! Mark Jr [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  2. I forget to add one question, about after tigers in conesus is more reasonable for me at now, so which jerkbaits is better for tigers? Or any kind of jerkbait would be fine? Which color should I have to go after them? I was thinking about perch color and white one. P.s which part of lake I should start at? North end or south end? Thank a lot for help me out! Look forward to post report in here sometime this fall season! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  3. Zach, thank for the post, haha yeah I understand what you mean by that.. I'm sure I will have musky fever once I caught my first one! I always wanted after them since I was pike fishing in younger age, but I wanted monster size of pike. Until I heard of musky, now I want to go after them.. However, in massachusetts, it don't have any muskies in there, there has few lake that hold them, and it was maybe 200miles away from my home.. But now, I'm going college in rochester. So I want bring up my old dream to reality. So I'm sure some day I will have to go canadaigua or waneta lake to fish them.. Back to point, I want to learn something more, so I'm follow from what you said about trolling vs casting.. So I decide to go along to trolling for them.. So what's kind of lure should I start with? I don't want to buy lure that are plastic or expensive one. So any advice for trolling lure? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  4. Ray k, yeah cape cod hold a lot ponds and lake around.. But I never bother to go after them. Since I wanted big game fish so I hooked after that ever since.. Then when I entered college in NY, I heard there has salmon around here.. I thought it was some of bs stories. Until I found genny river, so I decide give fly fishing a try.. Since I never fly fishing in my whole life. When I caught my first salmon, I was hooked in salmon fever! In same day, I bagged 41 pounds salmon. I thought it was average size after hearing stories in alaska salmons.. Until I realized it was monster size in NY.. I'm looking forward to catch one again.. So it kinda of led me to catching trout for fun. Since they fighting differently and jumping around more than salmons.. Now, my friend who I helped him bagged his first salmon in his lifetime in Pulaski, NY since we went up there for weekend. He was using regular bass fishing equipment so I lend my flyrod to him and explain to him how to use it. somehow when I explain, flyhook was in water, and salmon smacked it! Then run maybe 200 feet away so fast and my friend realized something wrong on flyrod until I saw line was running out, I was put hand on reel to add up more drag pressure, then let him to reel that salmon back in. Now, he hooked up for life. He kept obese about how fast it was and flyhook was right there in less 8 feet away.. He left college because of can't afford the college at last year. However, few days ago, he paged me said that he will come back to NY for college and he want to go after trout. I'm exciting because after he left, I had no fishing buddies to fish with me. Well, I have few people who can fish but long story about it. Make it short, they are assholes about me. So I won't fish with them again.. Anyway, I wanted to bring him to trout fishing when we can. Only thing is that I never trout fish to target them before. Now you guys explained me how to catch them.. Thanks a lot again! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  5. Yeah, I planning to use braid line for jigging.. I loved it. I always using it for haddocks and cod like you say. Very impressed with it. Now, I know what's lure to use for trout. Thank you everyone. Anyway back to point, nobody did answer that question, (which lake does hold the trout in it?) So I wonder if someone can voucher this question? Thanks again, I'm look forward to post report in this sometime this fall. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  6. Yeah, I understand what you mean from slack line.. Hardest part of fishing.. But once someone got used to it then great days are coming to you soon.. Also, I don't have any electronics.. I'm on college budget.. But I wish I have one and making my life more easier to fish.. Anyway, another tiny detail, I wonder what's size are you using for those jigging for trout? I have tons of 4in plastics flukes.. But is that consider fine for fishing on trout? [ Post made via Mobile Device ] [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  7. Yeah thank for info, I planning for catch and release on musky. I never wanted to keep them.. Also, I guess I might need to drive longer to catch them.. I wonder what's is general info to after them? Since I read mostly on capt larry, zach, old man's reports on musky fishing, I learned that fishing on shallow or deeper is no different but trolling them on 10 fow.. At anywhere.. But problem is that, I wanted to casting at them, not trolling.. So any info will help me.. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. I wanted to bring my friend (from california) to trout fishing since he loved to fish for trout.. It is completely new game for me since I never fish for them.. I mean I do occasion caught them. But not targeting them at all.. Now I want to, I'm just curious which lake has it? Hemlock, candice, honeoye lake? Also, I heard of jigging technique and I'm pretty knowledge about it. But only little tiny problem for me is what's kind of lure I should jigging for trout? I read reports on here. It said 1/2 - 1oz jig is better. So I wondered what's exactly it is? Since there has bass jig or panfish jig. Any info would help me out.. P.s. Any spot at those trout in lake would helpful for me.. Since I don't know where to begin at.. 16. Congrats Paul!! About time! Glad that you are fishing Lake O right now! Im Jealous right now...
  17. I wish I could post it more earlier.. But it is what best I can do from fishing actions for past 2 weeks.. Since striper bass season started, I'm working boat called Roccus, under Captain Kevin. First week was actually not bad average catch for keeper size for Commercial selling. Way better than last year on first week. but only one striper over 30's pound and several stripers over 20's pounders. second week, I cannot ask much better than that. tuesday-thursday, all caught on commercial limits. 15 Stripers were 30's pounders and almost all of stripers over 20's pounders. my arms and hands was actually tired and sore big time. I never felt that pains ever since 2006. It was amazing fishing going on. also, I was surprising to see bluefin tuna was around less 3 miles.. It was wonderful sighting while tuna and stripers in mixed to fighting the pods of baits. but in the end of day, I drank alot with captain in the bar. we was really happy when we found out from fish market that told us, we are top boat from everyone for highest selling striper bass. Look forward next week! I hope you guys are still fishing!!
  18. NitroMusky - I checked map on google, you are in right spot to fishing for bluefish and stripers. also, if you really want to catch stripers, go to under abodonment train station at cape cod canal and fishing right there. You don't need pay park fee or anything like that.. i highly recommend you to use slug-go or those 5 or 6in swimbait.. very effective.. I went there monday night, i caught 50 plus stripers in 4 hours during night time.. dont fishing there during day because fish will be gone.. not worth your time to attempt it.. It is my favorite honey hole for shore fishing.. if you found the tide current just right time. then you will be in luck to see the school of stripers drifting around.. also, follow what (needs salt) comment because he explained everything down to details. for on shore fishing.. GOOD LUCK>> LOOK FORWARD on your report..
  19. Fish Junkie- Thanks.. yeah, you should be on water sometime soon.. jkarol24- I never fish out there for several years.. But it is really nice place to go fishing.. Striper bass action will be amazing around august.. You are in the luck.. ray koziatek- HAHA.. August is one of best month for striper bass fishing around here.. I wish i had boat for myself. If i had a boat, i'll welcome you to come fishing with me. (Communication is not problem, we can work it out somehow) But Im working as commercial fishing.. so i'm pretty working with several captains in different locations to pay off the college tuitions.. its arent fun but at least, im on the water to earn the money.. it cant beat that instead work at land.. needs salt- Yeah, I loved to fishing them.. If you want to see my old pictures, you can look up at picture forum in there. also, thank for the offer on plugs.. but I know how to made them but not like professional made.. but it still work well.. plus on jigs too.. I had to learn tool of trade on fishing so i can save few bucks instead buy from stores..
  20. Great story!! Keep one in the books! Almost made me want to go up there instead fishing for saltwater already! KEEP IT UP ANTHONY!

  23. Sorry guys if I post wrong place but I wanted to post this information but I thought this place might right forum. Informations about saltwater fishing, if you guys want to come up some place to catch saltwater fishes in MASS. I been fishing saltwater since June. Here the information that I can provide the hotspot at right now. Those place that I been attend and actually caught them.. Striper Bass are in Chatham, MA. bunches of upper 20's pounders.. cannot wait for commercial striper season opener next Tuesday.. Fluke are in between Bass River, MA to Martha vineyard. If you found right spot, you will reel them all day.. I caught couple range 3-5pounds fluke around this place.. Black Sea Bass are same spot as Fluke are at right now.. my captain and I took people who charter our boat, for targeting them, alot of them around 5 pounders. Cannot believe how big they are than couple years ago.. Scup are in Onset, MA. or you can say, Buzzard Bay. They are monster size right now.. I caught tons of them, but 13 scups that over 2 pounds size. Winter Flounder are in Green Harbor, MA. Many of them was bigger than regular legal size. cannot believe how booming they are growing than it was couple years ago.. Bluefin tuna are everywhere.. But use your common sense at where they can be possible at.. But I went crab ledge, there was monster giant tuna at everywhere hitting the bluefish that are 2 feet long.. cannot believe what I been saw them hitting like that.. it was amazing sights.. but hopefully will target them sometime soon.. Also, I wanted to let you guys to know that alot of whales been in around 5-7 miles offshore right now.. have great weekend come up! full it up your belly with tons of before going out fishing..
  24. yeah, I understand what you mean.. It will save me in long run.. But I guess, I might can find cheap one when someone try to sell the Okuma Convector.. Hopefully, I can get some of those reel.. If not, I will glad to have some of those DAIWA ACCUDEPTH PLUS 47LC in the boat. But only time will tell..
  25. I heard that there are variety kind of size for downrigger, planer board rod, and dipsey rod. So which size is better suit for fighting salmon? I might choose this size, Downrigger rod and Planer rod will be 8'6 dipsey rod will be 10'6 or 9'6 But what's your option about it? pro and cons about it..
